All you guys who cancel your pre order lose your deposit right?

Typically, unless... SS drops the ball with say shipping dates or changes to the production piece that weren't on the advertised proto.

SS has gotten wise though with the language like July-Sept (3 month leeway or when shipped production piece may differ in appearance)

I heard from SS Customer Service that he's expected in warehouse on Friday, with first batch headed out then as well.

All-in-all, I think the suit turned out really great. Exceptional details, including folds, creases, textures. Cape looks a lot less like a wool blanket than first pics. I think that Ironhead studios involvement here is glaringly clear.

The portrait, however, is significantly lacking in Affleck likeness... monetary decision? Conflict of having Ironhead involved? Laziness? Who knows...

I'm excited to have him in hand.

Yeah not really sure whats going on with that mouth, are the sides of his top lip folded under?

This actually turned out like the prototype. Paint on the armor looks really good. But that's sculpt's been there from the beginning and unlike the regular suit PF, I don't see the resemblance to Affleck's mouth at all. They could have used a 3D scan of Affleck's helmeted head just like what DC Collectibles and even Jakk's Pacific did. I wonder why they didn't.

EDIT: I might end up getting this if I get to see one at our local group buy and sell for a very reasonable price. Maybe I could try giving its mouth a repaint as well.

Whatever lack of detail there 'might' be on the Armored version facesculpt, I still prefer it over that of the original one.

Especially in that photo of the two pieces side by side. The lack of a proper paint job on the original is a lot more apparent.

Face sculpt/paint ruins (or at least diminishes) another great statue by Sideshow. Both of the Batman statues above would have been absolute home runs if Sideshow would have put a little more effort into the face sculpts/paint. It is a shame they didn't.

If it is, then that's a good thing.

It's a better material to use for headsculpts. Just look at the headsculpts on Iron Studios' Falcon and Winter Soldier pieces.

But that doesn't mean, that paint app still isn't important.

Well, the mouth is not a deal breaker, I think it looks better than the Affleck PF. I will be ordering, but I think I'll wait for a sale on it.
