As for what they are waiting for, they probably don't want to release all of the major armored figures (Vader, Stormtroopers, Boba Fett) too close together. It makes it harder for people to afford them, and from their point of view the longer they can draw out the line by making people wait for the major characters, the better.

That too.

I do have the Medicom Fett, and he is awesome, but he is just too short to display with my more abundant SS figures. Clone Troopers and Imperial Guards go with SS fine, but Vader and Fett just don't fit as cool as they are. Some guy in the UK is getting my Fett Vader and Luke since I can't stand the size thing. More money for SS and Hot Toys stuff for me.

That PF Fett was nice too, but sold it without any companion pieces too. My heart is just set on a 1/6 Jedi version Fett to go with my growing Jabba Throne room set which began with this custom job and will continue with the Carbonite Han...

Gentle Giant Leia removed from base and de-resin-skirted and given the chain off of the Kotobukiya Leia.

So far I have everything related to this scene that Sideshow has made in 1/6. Really want Fett though. He would be the first good 1/6 Jedi version. Medicom and Marmit are both Empire (nothing wrong with that BTW).

I'm disappointed to hear this. I was really hoping that they would come out with a Boba Fett soon.

I'm sure they are saving it for next year for the 30th anniversary of Empire.

Wow, that Leia upgrade is actually really well done. Still looks a little out of place though, really nice, but out of place.

How is it out of place? Curious.

I'm sure they are saving it for next year for the 30th anniversary of Empire.

That's a good call. That's probably why. I would actually prefer that. Maybe if the next SW Celebration is in L.A. again, it will be there.

Sorry dude, I have both and no way Medi's is better. Just my opinion, though

Eh? You think Marmit fett withe the less detailed costume, inaccurate helmet shape and size and not so great materials is better than the medi Fett?

I have both too.

I really like Medi Fett a lot. I know the helmet is supposedly off or whatever but it's still a cool figure nonetheless. I'm hoping SSC makes a Jedi version when they finally get around to him.

Ok so? It still doesn't make them a waste of resources. Everyone seems to have such a hardon for armor figures and I just don't get it. I like a line to have breadth and depth. I don't collect for just the bad guys or the "cool looking" ones.

Star Wars is a difficult line to juggle admittedly because there are a number of fans who would not buy any prequel or EU figures under any circumstance and then fans quite devoted to one or both. Ultimately though businesses do not have unlimited time or resources, so poor choices hurt the line. I sincerely question the business sense in releasing a three-pack of Endor troopers (only one of whom is an actually screen character) instead of say a three pack of Luke, Wedge and Biggs in X-Wing uniforms. As Krayt Dragon points out, the fact the Endor troops are still available after so long says it all.

My favourite characters by the way are the aliens like Sandpeople and Admiral Ackbar.

No it doesn't, which is why I don't really have a lot of patience when people berate Sideshow for not knowing what the fans want. Sideshow knows that the fans overall would like stormtroopers or biker scouts more than Endor troopers. But that doesn't necessarily mean that releasing the troopers was stupid (ok, maybe they didn't need three of them). But tey're decent enough figures, and I'm sure Sideshow didn't lose any money on them. And at the time they were released, making armored figures just wasn't an option since Sideshow didn't have the technology to pull off armored figures (and frankly I think they're still working out the bugs even now). Plus you have to take into account what I mentioned earlier -- you don't shoot your wad (so to speak) as soon as possible. If you want the line to survive for many years, you have to space out the major releases or else people will lose interest and it will die.

Bingo! Spread things out so you cover not only the main guys/laides but the other folks who make the story what it is. Something I mentioned in the Indy section but it fell on deaf ears.

I'm no Star Wars expert, but based on the number of 3 3/4" action figures out there, I'm guessing that Fett is amongst the most popular Star Wars characters around, right? Up there with Vader and Solo.

If so, the I agree with the previous post that it makes perfect sense to hold off on him for a while. They released or announced Storm Trooper and Vader, which are pretty big hitters, and to maintain interest in the line for the longer run, they could then release some more "B-list" characters next. But once Boba gets released, unless they decide to do something really tough like Chewy, R2, or C-3PO, he is probably their last big "sure thing." After that, interest in the line would wane, because there wouldn't be anything "big" to look forward to. If I were Sideshow, I would probably make him one of the last Star Wars releases.

As long as SS eventually makes a Fett, I don't care if it come out in the next two years. There are pleanty of other good things coming out that drains the paycheck.

People will lose interest in it and it will die if people don't get what they want. Most people don't wanna wait "years" to get what they want. In SS's defense i don't think they were ready for armor when the endor troops hit. As far as blowing you "wad" right away. There's sooooo many cool and intriguing SW characters that just not gonna happen. The big boys are gonna all be out of the way soon anyways. Vader, Luke, Han, Leia etc. (and there's still more variations of some of those still to come) SS has not even touched EP2 clones, Sand people, royal guards, etc. which may not be A+ list, but are still up high on the popularity chart.

So that arguement don't work with me. Give people what they want soon, sure space it out a bit, but you have a money making license in SW use it well!! Personally i think they are doing good, just could be so much better.

And WHERE THE HELL IS EP1 Amidala? :)
