Surely they're going to release the ROTJ to match all of the Jabba's palace stuff they've put out?

Dunno, next year is the 30th Anny of Empire, so it might very well be that version first with an Ex size of 1980. Wouldn't that suck if they released the Empire version as the Ex and the ROTJ as the regular? Poor Dave would need to ScotchGuard the forum against all the tears. :lol

Maybe we'll get an AT-AT driver, Snow Trooper, or Han, Luke and Leia in Hoth outfits.

I dunno. It's nice to have a perfect helmet. :)

But I'm obviously not too attached to the notion, because I'm displaying my 1:6 Vader loud and proud. :)

People always make me laugh when they get upset that a helmet's shape or size is slightly off. It just seems like such a minor detail to me.

honestly, I'm a big Fett fan and I couldn't care less. But then again, I'm one of the very few not bothered by the Sideshow Vader forehead gap:D But my preference would be a RotJ Boba and Geonosis Jango

Me too. I'm much more interested in the other ESB bounty hunters, and I'm much more concerned about how long we'll have to wait for them (if we get them at all).

After seeing how well the armored characters are coming out I can't wait for a SSC Boba. Bring it on.

I am crossing my fingers for Sideshow to get the helmet right. Medicom did a good job with their Boba, I am eager to see Sideshow out do that.:D

No it doesn't, which is why I don't really have a lot of patience when people berate Sideshow for not knowing what the fans want. Sideshow knows that the fans overall would like stormtroopers or biker scouts more than Endor troopers. But that doesn't necessarily mean that releasing the troopers was stupid (ok, maybe they didn't need three of them). But tey're decent enough figures, and I'm sure Sideshow didn't lose any money on them. And at the time they were released, making armored figures just wasn't an option since Sideshow didn't have the technology to pull off armored figures (and frankly I think they're still working out the bugs even now). Plus you have to take into account what I mentioned earlier -- you don't shoot your wad (so to speak) as soon as possible. If you want the line to survive for many years, you have to space out the major releases or else people will lose interest and it will die.

On the other side...if they keep putting out characters the majority doesnt want anything to do with (Thrawn) and the prices keep rising...that is a recipe for bankruptcy.. I love my sideshow figures, though I did get into them because I liked the figures and they were a fraction the cost of Medicom. Well that gap has closed dramatically, and I dont see an improvement in figures. I am afraid Sideshow wont get a chance to blow their wad..and they will just go limp and complain that this never happens to them..lol I want these figures now, because if I have to wait another two years..the rate the prices are rising..it will cost me $300 for a damn 12" figure.

Also..they could do a ROTJ Boba...that wont coincide with Medicom's ESB one. Sideshow is in bed with medicom though because they always push thier products...the reasoning they gave for no R2 or 3PO in the works is that they are impressed with medicoms...im sorry but if there are no lights or sounds..dont even bother Sideshow...screw medicom, I am impressed with Hasbro's over medicoms..and its a tenth of the cost.

How does $90 close a gap to $180 dramatically? :dunno:lol

As far as improvements, I've seen substantial improvements from the headsculpts (from sculpt to materials) to the new body (which in some cases still has a few bugs to work out). Anybody who's collecting the Joe line knows that they're even giving HT a run for their money.

As to character choice, you may not be a big fan of Thrawn, but so what? That's you. There are people out there who are. And Sideshow catered to them in his case. I'm glad they did, and have been doing so since day one, because this line would be over and done with if they'd catered to the close-minded elitists leaving a broader Star Wars fanbase and collectibles market out to dry. And that would've been a poor business decision costing them quite a bit of money.

Back on topic, yes?

If you read what I stated...when I started collecting..sideshow was about $50 a figure..at the time Medicom was $120...and last I checked Vader was over that...so the gap has closed...I was referring to why I got into sideshow in the first place. I am glad you like Thrawn...but as an overall you were in a small crowd..thus the small edition size. And you may think they are all great business decisions..but the real reason we dont have certain figures is because they didnt know how to create them and it was easier to just dress up body types they already had so there was not a huge bill for production....why we have 14 different Lukes.
