Soft vinyl isn't so great of a material either.

Depends as that can be subjective.
Medicom comes with soft vinyl boots but Marmit comes with Hard ass vinyl. It is a pain to pose.

But in general, Medicom fett's material just blows Marmits. Clothed Vest ,pleather holster etc. Medicom helmet is made of hard plastic while marmit's vnyl so.....

I'm torn apart; so which fett, medi or marmit? LOL!

And what does everyone thinks of the hasbro 12" jango fett? Similar in quality to marmit's boba fett?

So did anyone actually read the statement from Sideshow... this is what the Q&A response was:

Our Star Wars 12-inch line is going strong, and the armored characters will continue. Boba Fett is not in the immediate line-up, but is definitely a character that we’re working on.

So that doesn't mean they aren't making him :lol To the contrary, they are "working on" which would more imply that he's in development. So don't worry about Medicom Vs Marmit... just wait and buy the Sideshow version :lol

Bingo! Spread things out so you cover not only the main guys/laides but the other folks who make the story what it is. Something I mentioned in the Indy section but it fell on deaf ears.

Star Wars is obviously a completely different beast than other properties like Indy. No way, no how Indy was ever or will ever be as deep a line as SW and should have a different model for choosing releases.

This is a line where characters with a second of film time would sell. To apply the SW formula to other lines would be a mistake.

Not really. You don't want to use all your main sellers right off that bat. Thats absolutely no way to run a line. If you really think so I'll say again I'm glad folks like you aren't in charge of anything I collect. Cause you would suck at to the highest levels. Lines would be short lived and would have little to it but the folks that sell. Not to mention your company wouldn't last very long unless you had every major line under the sun.

Even if SS makes a decent Fett i'll be sticking with my Medicom Fett. No way i see them doing any better.(medi fett is the bomb) Only way i might be tempted is if they do a ROTJ version, and even then it would have to absolutely rock.

Was that really necessary to make your point Josh?

Not all lines should or do have legs like SW. Hell, they couldn't even sell the (mostly) main characters in LOTR. It's amusing you just don't understand, Josh. Not every property can sustain having 3rd tier characters made into $90+ figures. And I'm glad your "highly critical eye" is not running things too. I'm sure everything would get the "good enough" seal of approval.

Maybe not but sometimes you just have to upfront with people.

Not all lines do but I think Indy does and LOTR would have as well if not for the delays. If a line is like POTC then I agree there are only a few that need to be done. My eye likes what I see and thats all that matters to me and my purchases. More often than not most folks I talk to from this board agree with me.

No doubt a Sideshow Fett in 1/6 would be in proper scale and would be just as good if not better than Medicom's, and it will certainly cost less. My patience for a Sideshow Fett is wearing thin.

Suprised this hasn't been talked about, from the QnA 23/9/09:

I have a question/request regarding the “in development” Boba Fett figure: Will it be the Emipre Strikes Back version (green gauntlets, blue back on helmet, green jetpack), or the Return of The Jedi version (red gauntlets, green back on helmet, blue jetpack) as in your PF figure? If you’re still debating the issue, the ESB version has been done in 1/6 before by Marmit, Hasbro and Medicom, whereas the ROTJ version would be new. With regards to accuracy, would Sideshow be willing to show pre-production photos to the community in order to ensure 100% accuracy? I ask because the helmet on the PF statue is the wrong shape, and it would be a shame if the same error was perpetuated into the 1/6 scale figure. Oh, and another question: Is there a 1/6 Scout Trooper in development?

Our development team is working on both Empire and ROTJ versions of Boba Fett, although it’s too early to say which version will be released, or which will be released first. While we may share images of the development, there are many factors that dictate details of the product, especially issues like helmet shape, which are not always easily communicated. Sometimes small adjustments must be made for production purposes (the way the injection tools work), and sometimes the licensor has a strong opinion about which reference we should match to. Of course, we will always read feedback, and our goal is to provide the most accurate and quality Fett that we can. We’re not currently in development on a 1:6 Scout Trooper, but he is VERY near the top of our list of candidates.

Two Fetts? I just got an erection.

Yes, and bring on the scouts and snowblower troopers while you're at it.

Surely they're going to release the ROTJ to match all of the Jabba's palace stuff they've put out?

People always make me laugh when they get upset that a helmet's shape or size is slightly off. It just seems like such a minor detail to me.
