What's all these paint issues people are talking about lately? Sorry to hear. I got mine 2 weeks ago now and I think it's fantastic got lucky I guess. Still stare at it constantly as do my kids.

Im curious, whats this paint rubbing you guys speak of? Did the wax paper cause the damage? Sorry, still a newb to pf s

Seems to be on the chest area mostly

Am I mistaken or does it appear to be that some of the shin for the wax paper has rubbed off on the paint or that the paint has rubbed off on the wax paper???

There were paint residues on the paper when I unboxed mine. Other than that, I would say that the black areas that are rubbed are caused by the paper smoothing it out. The black areas are in a dusted paint i.e. a non-shiny surface. But the paper has in a sense grinded parts of the areas smoother, creating a more shiny surface compared to the rest.

I highly douth the wax paper did any damage... The paint issues, at least from the pictures I have seen here looks more like scratches than something who seemed to have been rubbed.

What William at Sideshow told me was the paper damaged mine and, and I quote, "I wanted to follow up with you in regards to the paint on your item, after inspecting a couple of in-stock items it seems that this issue is occurring due to the material the item is wrapped with. With that said I do not believe we could offer you a replacement that would be an improvement to the on you have."

So that means, per William, they're ALL damaged. However seeing pictures on here I know that to not be the case.

On a side note, now long does Sideshow Support usually take to reply? I e-mailed William on the 23rd and then on the 27th to follow up but no reply...

Anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks.

When it comes to sanding paints to get a shine or super smooth finish theres a few ways to do it. Theres wet sanding which is most commonly known then there are other methods. You can sand paint with other fine material like a fine steel wool or even a brown paper bag. In this case the wax paper was put onto fresh paint, rubbed against it in transit and gave the contact points a shine. It actually sanded the paint. My theory also explains the transfer onto the paper. Anyone else with a better explanation im all ears.

If it's still not up to standards I'd ask for a full refund. If we keep accepting those "normal defaults" then we will continue to have QC issues.
