The first EX I opened who was damaged on the wrist was #320 I think.
The one I have is #328 and didn't fit correctly on the base because it was concave.

That's a whole lot of bad luck right there, buddy. :(

Meh, I have 4 statues from SS and so far I had issues with all of them.
Green Scar vs Silver savage - Hulk had a big golden paint drop on his back.
Skaar - didn't fit on the base and his hair piece is not properly assembled.
Joker - Had some grey marks on his face due to a bad paint job.
And now Deadpool.

That really sounds like bad luck. I never had any issues myself.

When it comes to sanding paints to get a shine or super smooth finish theres a few ways to do it. Theres wet sanding which is most commonly known then there are other methods. You can sand paint with other fine material like a fine steel wool or even a brown paper bag. In this case the wax paper was put onto fresh paint, rubbed against it in transit and gave the contact points a shine. It actually sanded the paint. My theory also explains the transfer onto the paper. Anyone else with a better explanation im all ears.

At first I thought you were talking about the little waxed paper square between the chest and harness but now I realize you are talking about the paper covering all the pieces.
Yes I also believe that is what caused some areas more perticularly the chest and shoulders to have a different finish than the rest of the statue, might even of caused some scratches.
Even mine as I was taking a closer look earlier have a very slight discoloration on the right shoulder :(

I was talking about the wax paper dude. Its a menace lol. That other stuff is tissue paper

I would think putting a thin coat of dull clearcoat on the shiny areas would solve the paint issue problem. It would dry to a matte finish like the rest of the black paint. Just a thought for those that have the issue but don't want to return it.

:s
Well then I'm not sure that little square piece could be the cause of the damages. From what I have seen from the pictures posted by the people with issues here, the waxed paper piece doesn't seem to reach the affected areas...
I should of checked that third box at LCS and see if that one was better...

I have number 1086. Paint errors on right side of chest and right leg, outside the area the wax paper under his chestpiece could reach

Got my replacement base in today. It's in great condition. The only problem is they sent me the wrong freaking base!! They sent me the regular base with the red/black colors on the bottom, not the gold!

Bloody hell. I even made sure to email them for confirmation that the replacement would be the EX base before it shipped.

This is BS.

I know it's a minor issue, and you never see the underside of the base, but this isn't an EX base. If ever I went to sell this piece, the buyer would think I'm a scammer trying to pass a reg as an EX. I don't plan on selling it any time soon, but this seriously devalues the piece, does it not?

I contacted SS right away, so we'll see if they can resolve this. I guess now I have to wait another 2 weeks for a resolution...

Am I being ridiculous here? On one hand I feel like I should be happy with a base that's in good condition...on the other hand, it's a different piece than the original.

Man wtf is going with SS. They seem to be way over their head in this. I'm already starting to see all the problems with their thousands of Batman and Superman PF :s
All this does not barewell.

Does it have the ES on the bottom or is it blank.

It has the right ES numbering on the bottom.

I don't know how big of a deal to make out of this with them.

It's not an EX base, there's no doubt about that...but, it has the correct numbering and is in better condition than my original...

Personally I wouldn't care about the bottom but that's just me. The EX is the dynamite chicken and that is what I would care about. The number on my base was unintelligible to me. Someone was writing these in a hurry!

Nope your being completely rational. I would be pi$$ed and SS would know it. Based on the fact that you received confirmation prior to shipment is pure neglect. I would professionally rip them a new a$$ hole and ask for the right base

Sounds like they just didn't have anymore ex bases to replace it with. If they do they're holding our on you. But something tells me you'll be getting that email reply saying they're are indeed out of stock on replacement ex bases. They probably never had many at all if any at all :lol to begin with.
