Couldn't agree more. I rarely even take the art box out of the shipper when I unbox these things. It's basically a condom for the statue...you know...protective packaging for the "piece"...who cares what it looks like as long as it works?

I don't even know what the art box looks like unless someone posts a pic of it

No one can accuse someone of being 'picky' when a piece arrives with chips.
Small paint blemishes and marks...picky!

On a related note, I have just received a statue from an online retailer. The polly inserts weren't even taped together, half the paper wrapping the piece was missing and there are scratches on the base. Also hads a small piece broke.
The item has obviously been opened and put together, either displayed or second hand/returned.
I'm really pissed off!
You expect it from eBay but not a retailer.

I guess people are always entitled to be picky with their own purchases. If you're not satisified, then see what SS will do to fix it for you.

Damaged/broken pieces are always legit concerns and need to be corrected. Paint is really a matter of opinion in most cases. I have never had an issue with the paint on any of my pieces.

See THOSE are legitimate issues. I will also say most of te things I have seen in this thread are totally legit.

IMO, with statues like these, any sort of paint issues, cracks/discoloration/marks/scratches/etc., isn't and shouldn't be considered minor flaws.

Even though Punisher is more 1/5 scale I think it displays well with Deadpool. Sorry to hear about paint issues with some form members, mine came issue free...thank goodness! He's a great addition to my Marvel line!

We aren't talking those kind of things persay. We are talking a 1/10 of a millimeter discoloration type of thing.

Well my PF Shaak Ti had those and yes I lived with them. The Deadpool though was a good 1.5 inch overspray on the highly visible chest area.

Yes, if you go LOOKING for problems you'll surely find them but the final determinant should be if you are happy with the piece. If you aren't Sideshow should make it right.

Thanks for the pic. Yours looks just like mine (paint wise). I wasn't sure if mine had discoloration or if this is supposed to be some sort of effect, but judging by yours, apparently it's the way it's supposed to be. Except for the top of the right shoulder where clearly something was rubbed off, still not that noticeable, but I know it's there...

I totally agree. Now if you don't mind me asking.. Is it overspray.. Or something that came off the wax paper???

Older pieces i've got or had, IM Mark I, Hulk Buster, Hellboy 2 PF, Abomination PF(for example), had no issues at all. 100% perfect!
Seems quite rare now.

That is awesome to hear... My Captain America TFA is PERFECT as well, but I don't pull out a magnifine glass to look at it.

I am starting to think that ink was on to something when he said this may be a heat issue. I have only seen the "overspray" issue in the areas where the wax paper was placed to protect the statue from the bandoler. If these sat in a sweltering hot crate I wonder if the wax might have partially melted and ended up getting transferred to the statue. I wonder if an eraser might help??:dunno
