Well I'd tell them that you either want to keep both bases, or you want the right one. They might just let you keep both instead of trying to replace it, for the third time. Which they can't seem to do anyways because they are out of EX bases.

I can try this tactic, but as Collectorcol said, it'd still be an incomplete EX.

That said, this is all speculation. They have not confirmed yet that there are no EX bases left for replacements...but, that is my assumption since I did not get on in the first place.

It would still be an incomplete Ex.
I wouldn't buy it

I'd still buy but for at least a few hundred less of asking price.

This is what I'm saying...they've basically devalued my EX significantly by doing this.

I think the bottom of the base has a sticker on it,doesn't it?
isn't it possible to take it off carefully and put it on the new (reg) base?

No, no sticker. The only difference is the coloring, as far as I know.

B', am I right. Didn't you ask them to make sure the base was the gold Ex one right?

Yes, indeed I did. I emailed them as soon as I saw on here that the bases were different to confirm. The CS rep emailed back...before the replacement shipped...that I would be getting an EX base as the replacement.

So, either the rep was misinformed, and SS doesn't have any EX bases, or the guys in the warehouse screwed up and sent me the wrong one.

Did they ask what number yours was and number it up?
I would say #1 :yess: :rotfl

That's what I thought you said after posted those two different bases. Hard to think they have no more EX bases considering very few have had problems with their base. I have to believe SSC is gonna do right by you.

I hope so. They confirmed that they are looking into right now, and I should hear back earlier than the normal 3 to 5 days.

Ugh. I really wish I reviewed mine earlier, but sadlly I was away on business. So many issues on mine. Very apparent overspray, black has varying degrees of matte finish, scratches on legs, red paint rubs on legs. Im not happy now.

Ug I ordered mine and should get it sat or tuesday. Looks like I am going to be inspecting mine with a magnifying glass.

Yeah me too on the right pec and shoulder :s
I think im gonna try and check out the third one at my LCS.
Also gonna try to have a base that fits correctly...
To be continued....

Man I either got really lucky or I am just not that picky. I think its a bit of both.

Well no statue will ever be 100% perfect, if you look close enough at any piece, you can find some minor imperfection...it's just the way it is when they are hand painted. That being said, if there are very noticeable flaws, then the buyer should return it for one that meets expectations.

I am extremely pleased with the statue I received as well...just trying to get the damaged base sorted out. I really hope they have not run out of EX bases, I'd be extremely choked if that was the case.

Yeah, if I look at it up close and inspect every mm there are MINOR flaws in the paint, but I believe that is the case with ALL statues. Overall, the paint on mine looks great.

:exactly::goodpost:
Some people on here are way too picky.

Understatement... Some people here want replacements for dented brown shippers

:lol...Now that's when it's going to far. Who really gives a damn that the box or art box is a little ding up. I could less about a stupid box. It's like they are gonna display the box or something, or they're going have it sent off to CGC and have it graded. Who cares so much about a box and a few bent corners. As long as the box protects the statue during shipping and not falling apart at the seams. Chill on the DUMB BOX stuff. I had a guy pull a scam on me on eBay because he wanted a better box. Statue was in prefect condition. Corners were a little messed up but nothing to the point I'd be pulling a scam on someone.

No one can accuse someone of being 'picky' when a piece arrives with chips.
Small paint blemishes and marks...picky!

On a related note, I have just received a statue from an online retailer. The polly inserts weren't even taped together, half the paper wrapping the piece was missing and there are scratches on the base. Also hads a small piece broke.
The item has obviously been opened and put together, either displayed or second hand/returned.
I'm really pissed off!
You expect it from eBay but not a retailer.

Couldn't agree more. I rarely even take the art box out of the shipper when I unbox these things. It's basically a condom for the statue...you know...protective packaging for the "piece"...who cares what it looks like as long as it works?
