Here are some shots that I took quickly outside in an effort to try to get the best possible lighting.

This shot would have been better had the T.rex not come out blurry, but the autofocus grabbed the Trike. It still helps you get an idea of the detail in the texturization.

Even this washed out a good bit of the natural dentition shade since the camera focused on the skull rather than the teeth, but it gives you some idea.

Here's the T.rex from another angle. I think this shot turned out extremely well.

Damn, that is an amazing piece! Your enthusiasm and review has made me a believer... I think I'm gonna join the Dinosauria bandwagon :rock

fantastic pictures Scar!! I'm still not feeling this diorama (a bit too cramped for me), but you have convinced me on getting the Carnotaurus, so now i have both the T-Rex and Carno exclusives on order. :)

Nice, Joseph! :rock :rock

Thanks for the pics Scar, the teeth look about the same as mine. :banana

Whew! That was a mouthful ...
That's what she said. :D

It's a nice piece, but I never did like how the Triceratops is in the air. I mean, are they supposed to be tumbling down a mountain? Love the detail on it, I just wish the Trike would've had his feet on the ground and the base more level.

For what it's worth he does have one foot firmly planted - namely the one with the peg in it - but it is dynamic; I can understand some collector's objections to that.

You're still wrong though Iz! :maul:D

Don't get me wrong dude, I think it's awesome, if not slightly awkward looking. That would not stop me from buying it, if I got a sweet deal on it. I love the Dinos!! :rock

Outstanding news, gents! Glad we could convert a few over to Dinosauria! :rock

Good to hear the teeth on yours are about the same shade as these in person; some of the pics I took with the flash make them appear yellow with a red wash, but it washes out the finer details of the rest of the piece.

Makes sense for the teeth to be tinged with blood when driven deep into tissue. Glad they went with this approach instead of just painting the teeth a deep crimson... then I would have found a flaw to harp on. :banana

Yep, that's exactly the approach they were going for, and ever since the pictures went up on SS's website I thought it actually augmented the atmosphere of what was going on, and gave a nod to the fact that both combatants were doomed to die as a result of this battle.

Thanks for the pics and congrats on the awesome piece Scar! This line is simply fantastic.

Glad you like the dio, THX! :rock Feel free to send the pics to the folks over at Statue Forum. I'd be very curious to hear their thoughts on the piece as well!

I just can't get over the detailing. It's amazing.

It really is a statue that you can stare at for hours. Each time I turn to look at it I find something else that catches my eye. It's breathtaking in-hand.

What's the next dino gonna be? Or what does the video hint it will be? I can't get the damn thing to play.

Definitely the Styracosaurus. I can't wait to see what the color scheme looks like for this one. A lot of potential for ornamentation with the crest. Whether it's dimorphic like with the T.rex maquette or not is hard to say right now, but I'm excited for it.

Had a feeling it would be that one given the video from awhile back, but I was hoping it'd be something surprising. I was hoping it'd be a steg. :lol

Eventually I'm certain we'll get one. It's too popular a dino for SS not to consider releasing a collectible based on the creature.

i'm definitely hoping for a Steg, and a Triceratops. Would be nice if they did a Brachiosaurus (although the scale would probably be off), or a Pterodactyl.

A Triceratops doesn't seem very likely, since we got the Trike skull for the exclusive with the dio. Sauropods are certainly a likelihood, and a Stegosaurus seems an outright certainty, whether in a maquette or a dio. In terms of scale, SS said in the latest Q&A that the maquettes and dios wouldn't necessarily be to scale with one another, unlike when they would have more than one animal in a single dio in which case they would be to scale with each other.

Yeah I can't wait for the preorder - I was thinking - with all the high quality that sideshow put into the dinosauria line, which i am very fascinated with, I am surprised that not too many collectiors are interested in this, I don't know about you guys but I was waiting for this a long long time. When I heard about the Jurassic park line I was so excited, then dinosauria, I was overzelaous - I knew from the beginning that the dinosauria line is going to be a hit, I gues I was wrong, but the quality and realism never the less it's the best I've seen so far. I am glad they pushed the dinosauria line rather than jurassic park line, no offense to anybody, I know how Jurassic park fans feel. Don't get me wrong I think jurrasic park is awsome but dinosauria is more realistic and life like, that is, based on assumptions, research and ideas.

I've always been a sucker for dinos and other prehistoric life in general. Guess I'm just a firm believer in the old adage of truth being stranger than fiction. Take the stego or impending styraco for example. What living animal today can boast such a bizarre and profuse array of medieval weaponry on its body? As much as I love JP, its still sci-fi and should be respected as such. Dinosauria seems to be SS's attempt to portray these beasties as interesting in their own right and I think the results are cool so far.
