That dome is awful......SSC is plain incompetent with Vader.

It is kind of a facepalm kind of thing, isn't it? I mean, that was the chief complaint about the previous Vader (followed closely by the extra tall height). You would have thought they would double their efforts (see what I did there?) and make super sure they get the dome right this time around.

I am a little disappointed that the figure won't have the hands-on-belt hands like that McHaleyArt's custom does. The ones that come with Vader are kinda grabbing claw hands and not really the hands-tucked-in-the-belt hands. I know they did that so they serve a double purpose, but in ESB that look is so iconic, they should have sprung for the extra set.

I'm so on the fence with this guy as it is, and the awesome Hoth figures just complicate the matter even more. On the one hand, I don't want to spend the significant amount of money for another Vader on top of the Hoth figures. On the other hand, it would be great to have a Vader that goes correctly with the Hoth figures. Not to mention the high I'm in from this great reveal is making me want to spend spend spend!

I just finished looking at the gallery photos at the SS website and the Dome sits way lower on the prototype shown for the regualar helmet. I almost wonder if the helmet thats the one at Comic Con is the sperate mask and dome that is part of the Anakin Head ?

I don't think those where nesessarly designed to fit over the Anakin portait. If thats the case thats a pretty big screw up on SS's part to display it that way rather than the regular helmet .

You can also see a seem where the neck piece meets the teeth and tusks. I think its the reveal helmet rather than the regular helmet shown in the Gallery shots for the figure.

Hm, interesting theory. If this is the case, and no SSC employee hasn noticed and tried to replace it with the proper one, then there is some serious incompetency going on with them. Like they don't know their own product.

If theirs was half as good as McHaleyArt's custom..

It is the modded medicom V2 Vader. That is a beautiful piece ad the helemt is so good.

Consider pre-order canceled... Ntm I would have futz the hell out of SSC's anyway and got a poor figure. I'll fix the height issue with Medicoms by upgrading to a kaustic. Ntm I'm a good seamtress now and I can make leather accessories like crazy. Sigh... Well it'll be a next year project for sure.

I'm considered dropping my PO. I might just wait on Hot Toys, I'm in no rush for a Vader. Especially a ****ty one for 250$.

As bad a the helmet looks, on some angles it looks okay. Really hope the tweak it for the actual release. If only Medicom made them to SS scale, their molds look way better.
