hey guys, Not a big Star Wars fan but I am interested in getting this guy, but I see this figure is getting a lot of hate on here. Can anyone explain exactly why the hate? To my casual eye he looks perfect but I am sure the die hard fans can tell me in the inconsistencies between this and the real Vader. Thanks.
I think I might get him, he looks fine to me.
portrait reminds me of Alan Dale (LOST)...
He'll always be Mr Robinson to me.. sorry.

This forum is crowded with people who have unrealistic expectations and hate simply for the sake of hating, don't pay too much attention to it imo.

I have ordered this figure. I did not get the previous version SS (or any other version for that matter, of him so this will be my very first DV ever...a Vader Virgin, if you like. So, to me he looks spectacular and will be the hub of my growing collection of screen villains. I would consider myself a strong fan of Star Wars and I can understand why a huge number of faults would be unacceptable. But to me and any friend or family member that may throw a casual look at it, they would be, to all intents and purposes, unnoticeable.
I do feel that it starts to get a bit extreme when folks start quoting that the 'whatever' is not at the correct 45 degree angle that it should be at, then they are expecting a little too much from any figure, even a $200+ one. Excuse me while I get out my slide-rule and compass.
So, I like it. I know that there are many here that can give me a whole long list of things that are 'wrong' with it. I can live with them because I am not getting **** about it as I am aware that these are just (strictly speaking) over priced toys and most of them wouldn't matter to me that much anyway, so I have Pre-Ordered it and I am glad that I did.

I can't see the "45 degree" thing.
But, there seem to be two different Sideshow grills shown. One with lines either side of the 'nose':
and another with a line going up to the center of the 'nose':
Or it could just be an optical illusion.
