is that your picture of your boba?

Also, Figures need to be futzed with, and tweaked, and water treated to look as good as they do in the SDCC displays.

Not just taken out of a box, and tossed on the shelf.

In-hand, properly futzed, Boba is AMAZING.

Agreed... that picture is the first set of images anyone had of the figure and really only highlights the shortcomings. Overall a great figure, but you mostly just need to short out the squarish vest... once that's done the rest falls into place nicely.

Agreed. Admittedly, a little too much futzing had to be done. Warming up the chest piece and bending it, anyone? But once it's all done, it's a great looking figure.

Yeah, what he said. :hi5:

You can add a stitch to the sides of the vest too, but both (bending the armor) are optional. The only mod that's absolutely necessary is trimming that plastic.

I guess it's a pain for some to bother working on figures. If they want to take a figure out of the box and have it be perfect that's their right, but I enjoy it, and Boba looked great with a small amount of work, IMO.... It took 4 years for us, as a collaborative team here on the board, to make the SS ANH Vader look really good. My point is that it does take time to get these things right. If you're not willing to put in some effort then perhaps this isn't the hobby for you.

submerging the figure in lukewarm water, pose on stand, adjust the wet clothing to hang and drape how you want it to look, allow to dry. this creates nature, properly scaled folds and wrinkes in the fabric that cannot be otherwise achieved.

Sounds so simple but I bet that takes several practices to master.

I guess it's safe to say that some if us are happy with Fett, and it doesn't have any bearing on whether or not we get Vader.

Meh, all I did was trim away the clear plastic that holds the armor bits in place.

EVILFACE; that's probably the best I've ever seen that figure look. The pose is perfect; the head tilt, the stance - you've nailed it. Man - I do not like that figure generally, but yours almost looks like a promo pic of Bulloch. :monkey1

Devil76 mentioned only a quack being able to explain the malice some folks have for the SSC Fett - it's simple to explain the cons really - but hey.. this is the new Vader thread, so I'll spare you all the inconvenience. :lol

I love customizing the figs. I own a few custom indy's and i keep on adding stuff when i have the time. I think it's whats keeping this hobby alive for me. Just having the normal figs isn't enough. All the wonderfull work people put into them is inspiring.

Best,

Robert

It that supposed to help your argument? I don't get it. And no it don't take time to get things right if they are done right the first time! Also, to say the hobby might not be for someone cause they don't wanna have to go through the hassle of doing the figure the proper way it should've been done the first time from a reputable company is a huge generalization. (and i ain't talking about futzing)

:peace

(It's basically why everyone keeps asking if HT is ever going to do a Vader)
