Sideshow ESB/ROTJ Darth Vader

I don't know about anyone else, but I am dying to see this figure. i passed on ANH Vader and its time to add him to the collection. With a combo of ESB and ROTJ, it just builds even more excitement.

This being my favorite Vader design, it will be mine. Sounds like they went all-out on him too, so here's hoping he looks the part.

I grow more and more impatient for him every day to hear more news. But until I see the final figure in its brown shipper on my doorstep I wont be satisfied.

I feel like an idiot for asking since I've closely followed Star Wars since the mid 90s, but what's up with the silver lining along the bottom of the right eye on the ANH Vader? Just a production error during filming like C3PO's silver leg? Is it there for ESB or ROTJ? I sure can't see it if it is.

The silver (gunmetal) on Vaders face are painted highlights, so that the facets stand out- else- he'll just appear as a black blob...it's very characteristic of his expression to, so it's necessary with any reproduction of Vader...they are in all OT films -- the ROTS Vader is ALL black - clearer pic, plus symmetry was important to show his machine-like persona now...loss of humanity

I think that's really hard to say... The first teaser pic could mean that it's essentially done but it was taken from a little ways back with not much detail (shot with Vader looking at his helmet). The second teaser of his helmet/hands were all unpainted, so dunno if that says to me that a PO is imminent. I'd be kind of surprised if we saw anything more than a completed prototype in SDCC with a PO somewhere down the road but could be wrong. Hopefully pixle's right as I'd like to have one of these on order, for sure.

Worst case scenario it could be like Grievous where we saw him at SDCC and still have not gotten to pre-order him.

Although last time we saw a Vader at SDCC the pre-order was soon after. I think the issue with Grievous is what was shown at SDCC did not have the articulation figured out yet.

Haha, yeah, no-one knows. Imagine what people were saying last year when the teaser pic of Grievous went up and everyone saw the proto at SDCC. If we were to dig-up those old threads, can't imagine anyone would've thought we still wouldn't have a PO for it by now.

Edit: What galactiboy said, too. Beyond the articulation/possible QC issues they've run into with Grievous, it's obvious they weren't anywhere near ready for production. I doubt they'd tease another character again unless they're pretty sure that it's ready to go (hard to say with Sideshow, though, they're not really consistant or predictable as one might assume).

For my wallets sake, I selfishly hope he's pushed back to next year, but for all who are eagerly anticipating him much like myself, sooner rather than later would be nice. Just hope I can slide him into the PO equation.
