I don't like rubber boots generally, they tend to look cheap IMO. These Hoth boots are not bad sculpt wise, but the paint is pretty crude on them and the texture of the rubber is all wrong. They feel and more importantly look like rubber. I try to replace when possible.

Same goes for Bespin Han and all the great customs I've seen in here, most people replace the stock plastic boots with *real* materials. Leather, pleather, fabric, whatever, it adds a level of sophistication you don't get with molded boots. HT have done some great work with this. Jack Sparrow and Catwoman being two of their best "real" material posable boots. The Bespin boots are pretty good, too perfect and clean, but with a bit of work can look great, I guess it depends on what you are into. On high end figures, molded boots are not good enough IMO. Still trying to work out how to replace my Snowies boots with fabric ones, alas that may be a lost cause.

Hans boots are a let down, it's a pity because the pants and coat are great. I guess if the sculpt of the boots was great I wouldn't mind the rubber so much. But I find the boots and gloves to be by far the weakest body elements with these figures.

IMO, if anyone says this figure is not at or above typical Hot Toys level, they're being disingenuous. This figure is what everyone has been waiting for Sideshow to do. Hopefully they keep it up and only get better.

I wouldn't say it is AT and certainly not above Hot Toys quality, but it's close, certainly MUCH closer in terms of quality than any figure Sideshow has ever put out to date and that's not being disingenuous at all. In fact, it's pretty damn complimentary coming from Sideshow and that's saying a LOT.

Picked up a couple comics from my LCS today and they had Hoth Han, Luke, and the HT Stormtrooper on display. WOW that trooper is fantastic. But I was also surprised at how good Han and Luke looked in person, with no mods at all.

It's going to be a bit of a pill without redoing the fur trim, regardless of the original color.

Everyone else, how are the re-furring mods going?

I did it. It comes out very well if you half dye it. Looks pretty screen accurate. You get a more complex looking colour because of the brown underneath, looks more realistic I think. Getting the fur off is a pain though.

I just dyed my blue jacket brown and my brown jacket blue.
