Hi guys. Trust you are fine. So I wanted to order this upcoming Hot Toys Joaquin phoenix joker figure from Sideshow and wanted to pay full price.

All set but on the check out page I see the shipping is not charged up front and it's showing me an estimate. So I contacted customer support and this guy told me that these are estimates and the exact amount will be billed once item is about to dispatch.

Now my question is that from your past experience the estimate price they mention is close to what they charge or it may drastically increase at the time of shipping?

For me the estimate international shipping is showing 40 dollars (FedEx). I don't know if at the time of shipping they charge me 60 dollars or like that so kindly share your experiences. I am not talking about my custom duties or vat but the shipping from their end. The estimate and the actual amount charges when it's shipped.

And if there is any better option to but this for international friendly shipping stores please guide me to them too. Thanks.

Probably depends how early you preorder, but I'd say somewhere between 3-6 months.
I got my Red & Blue Final suit Spider-man mid Aug and Kenobi Vader mid Sep.

Estimates are usually very accurate, maybe 5-10% off but no more.

Agreed - it’s been a while since I’ve got anything from Sideshow but I’ve never had any nasty surprises with their shipping

Thanks guys so this is true for international shipping also or shipping inside US only?

I'm in Canada and the shipping is usually accurate to what it is on pre-order
Thanks. Canada is close to US so maybe they don't charge much but then I am not sure. I am from middle east.

Also when they get the figures in stock? It will help me to decide actually. If they get figures earlier than other stores then I can buy from them and can take the risk of variation in shipping.

Almost all of those figures are produced in China. So US based stores are not the ones who receive their stock first. If you want to be among the first to receive your freshly released figures you have to find a shop in China/Hong Kong and order there directly.

Those stores from China/Hong Kong usually receive their stock long before Sideshow.
Hope that helps.

Thanks bro. Yes I am aware of these stores but this figure is long sold out. Giant toys doesn't carry hot toys and mostly third party figures. Tns also a bit same. One sixth kit is sold out. All the HK sites I know are sold out. Artisian is available but I don't justify paying 150 extra dollars for rooted hair.

I'm in Australia, the other side of the world.

Think about it from a business perspective - Sideshow ships a lot of product, and they've been doing it for quite some time Their shipping calculation has to be reasonably reliable to maintain customer trust/confidence.
