I think this is a classic excellent statue. The essential Luke.

As I read the negative comments that many are postings, I can't help but wonder if some "find" negatives so that they convince themselves that it isn't good enough and not worth forking out big bucks for a very expensive statue. Maybe it is subconscious: "I can't afford that" becomes "I don't like that" and then "I don't want to buy that".

Personally I disagree. I have placed my order for the exclusive but I expected more...this pose, especially with the blaster, is BESPIN LUKE --- not ROTJ.

I can't image that any point during the design process there wasn't a thought of a Vader companion piece for Luke. I mean it's Return of the Jedi Luke with Saber lit and at the ready. SS wouldn't put him in that pose to square off against a weequay or a speeder bike. This shouts Vader all the way.

But if you recall, Juke in ROTJ was always using both hands to grasp the saber. I think he learned from last time in ESB that fighting with one hand caused his saber to be thrown from his grasp by Vader.

Luke never lost grip of two hands on the saber when fighting Vader in ROTJ.

Cancelling my order. Just not the definitive Jedi Luke due to the pose. I'm so disappointed.

Yeh, I'm a little disappointed with the pose of the statue as well, but I'll still be getting this. To me, the definitive Luke is The Empire Strikes Back Bespin version. I really hope Sideshow nail that one when and if they release it.

It looks like maybe he could be sizing up his opponent in that pose. I rewatched the movie but didn't see this exact pose anywhere. But it could be worse, they could have done this.

Yeah for me that's the only bummer part is they chose a pose that doesn't exist in the film really.

Luke ALWAYS had both hands on the saber while fighting in ROTJ. EVEN while at the ready he always held both hands (my thought to why is from how Luke lost his saber <and hand> initially to Vader in ESB and learned from that mistake).

These are poses I wouldn't have minded being the PF:

(or the folded hands as he walked down the steps to Jabba's palace)

Seriously though... Who makes these decisions and says, "You know... I say we forget how Luke really posed with that saber in the film and lets' just go with something that was never seen. Screw iconic poses... people will know who he is."

Other companies have gotten it right at least with the poses. Heck you see the couple poses Sideshow did on the 12" introduction of the pics and they used some iconic poses. Why would they not do it with the PF statue?!

The sculpt is awesome, best Luke likeness to date!

I guess I'm in the minority, I REALLY like the pose. It looks like he's circling Vader, keeping his distance, but ready to defend. It's growing on me more and more. I can see how it would work just as well with Bespin Luke. I like how they take liberties with the poses. In my opinion some poses, iconic or not, have been WAY overdone, example: Vader, I'm your father, pose.

I'm looking forward to adding this Luke to my collection

If people are really that unhappy about the pose, I would contact SS and let them know immediately! You never know if enough people complain maybe they'll tweak it.
