Re: Jedi Luke PF - NEWSLETTER PREORDER Dec. 10

Put myself on the waitlist for the Exclusive, but honestly, I think I'll just go through a retailer for the regular if someone has it on pre-order for 15% off.

While it took a while for the pose to grow on me, I made some subtle tweaks in photoshop to make Luke look a little more imposing IMO. Just by turning his head slightly so that he's looking the same direction as the saber is posed ready to strike/protect himself. Also, with the pupils looking head-on instead of off and behind himself. Here are the comparisons:

Re: Jedi Luke PF - NEWSLETTER PREORDER Dec. 10

Its been awhile since I've seen the movie but I remember him having the cloak while having the pistol and then when he falls into the Rancor pit, throwing it off. Is that right? Either way just like there was someone who made Grevious capes for those who had regulars I have a feeling someone will make a cloak for this thing by the time it ships.

Yep, that's my memory of it as well.

Also, I grew up with this lunchbox image... so a blaster w/o cloak just doesn't feel right to me :monkey2

Honestly the more I think about this PF the less excited I am about it... I love the sculpt. But the pose is really weak. I may just stick with the 1/6 and Rancor Dio for my Jedi Luke needs.

completely and utterly correct sir. He does lose it then not before. sorry to think otherwise wise one lol

I wonder if the design of the pose is geared around a Vader to compliment it. Looking at the shot in Indiana's tweaks, I can see Luke almost staring back at Vader, sort of pulling away from him but keeping the saber ready to defend himself.

I'm hoping that the success of this piece might remind Sideshow that classic versions of OT characters can still sell well.

If we get too many more EU releases in the PF line while important characters from the original films are ignored, I'm going to pull out my hair in frustration. (I'm still irked that Darth Oola from the comic books was up for preorder before Palpatine, R2-D2, C-3PO, a Stormtrooper, Skiff Guard Lando, Greedo, Tarkin, a Gamorrean Guard or Chewbacca--although I have to admit that I have accepted the fact that Chewie will never actually happen.)

Great minds...I was thinking the EXACT same thing as I made my adjustment. As a standalone piece, I like it the way I adjusted it...but if it's to match ROTJ Vader, with, as you said Luke almost staring back at Vader, sort of pulling away from him but keeping the saber ready to defend himself...Then this could help the pose make much more sense. Time will tell...

That's what I always thought, I guess I was just thrown off in this pic

I still think it will be a jumpsuit...it looks to me like it's more like some sort of elastic in the back, maybe so it can be stretched over the polystone body and come back to shape?

I hope you're right :)

Keep in mind Darth Almostnekkid sold out faster than any other PF, including this awesome Luke... Looking at the view numbers on the Closer Look @ feature I published on Rebelscum, more collectors were interested in looking at that figure than any of the other PFs I've done similar features on (save Slave Leia, which also had a lot of viewers). Lets face it, there are more perverts buying toys than there are non-perverts.
