Pass. I'll wait for the P1 new 52 batman.

Yeah, I'm really leaning that way too. I don't know why they made a Batman that doesn't fit stylistically with WW and Supes. Why not make a rebirth style Batman with and interchangeable bat symbol (with/without gold outline) and keep the cape that is on this one. Seems like a no brainer that that would make most people happy to have all three as a definitive Trinity. I feel like the P1 Batman fits so much better (even if it's New 52) stylistically with SS WW and Supes than this one does. At least I don't care about the Ex and the ES is TBD. I have forever and a day to think it over. Even if P1 is $200+ more than this, I think I actually like it $200+ than the this one (with almost guaranteed quality to boot).

Yeah it's definitely a bit odd that the other 2 seem to have a similar thought process in terms of design and Batman is completely different. If your plan is to release the Trinity at the same time, I would personally think that the styles of all 3 would be really similar.

I was so excited for this with just the belt teaser and then I saw the final thing and I have no clue what's going on.

There are ways to put your own unique touch on a character but when you try to do so many things like that in 1 statue (Batman and Captain America come to mind) you just really increase the likelihood that people aren't going to like it.

I'd have to think that MOST people who buy these statues don't want interpretations that go too far off of any comic book iteration. And when that happens, I just think you're really limiting the amount of people who are going to be interested. And it's not like you're selling to a large amount of the population to begin with.

I'm just wondering what the percentage is, of collectors of these types of Collectables who are current or we're former comic book readers against those who've never picked one up.

Especially when you consider that this market has grown considerably these past 5 years, in this new golden age of genre comic book movies etc.

Well...I feel like most comic books have started going off the deep end as well trying to get new readers. The Batman Beyond zombie deal was one weird one and I did not care for Spider Island and the whole Spidey verse deal.

Ordered.

No size comparison picture at all in the listing, interesting, he is on the shorter side.

This thread is not negative but more demanding a completely different piece, A Rebirth Batman, DC Collectibles has 3 already, are any of them good examples of what you wanted this piece to be? If not is there a piece of artwork? I can't think of much recent artwork that jumps out at me as "Forever cast this in resin now!"

Nevermind Rebirth, there are still iconic Jim Lee Hush, Frank Miller DKR, Aparo/Jones Bronze Age , Capullo N52 renditions to bring to the table, as well as some of the older more popular Elseworld styles.

There is literally a ton of renditions to offer before bringing some $600 "twisted" imaginary idea for collectors.

I hate the batarangs, but he can be displayed without them, so that's fine.

Thing is, I also hate the fat legs, and I'm pretty sure I can't display him without those, so... :lol

Bit of a shame, as I quite like the rest of the piece, but there will always be another Batman statue, so there's really no reason to compromise ones personal tastes and preferences when it comes to collecting The Bat.

Well not with that attitude you can't.

Pass. I'll use my money on GA if Sideshow doesn't mess up the lower half of his body like they did this Bats PF.

I think what bothers me about this the most is that it looks like a caricature of Batman. There are too many over-exaggerated parts to it--huge thighs, thick squat body, giant batarang, etc. It's like a cartoon version of the character, which makes it look bizarre next to the more realistic Superman and Wonder Woman statues. Then Sideshow throws in the weird costume design and $600 price tag? I can't make myself spend that on something like this.
