Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

Not too bothered about the gun, Compass for me :)

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

The run size on this guy is gotta be huge - I'm betting the regular comes in around 2000-2500, and the exclusive at 1000. Keeping the price down at $325 has to be on the assumption of fairly high numbers for both the regular and ex.

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

little disappointed that jack does not come with his hat but i do have the neca figure somewhere.

i was thinking about the same...i have neca's jack 18 inch so most probaply the hat with little modification and weathering it will fit to the premium format...hopefully

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

Well I think I have decided to get this piece. Me, my wife and my kids, we all love Captain Jack. The movies, the PotC ride at Disney, and everything else.

The more I look at it, the more I like it and think it looks like Johnny Depp.

I sold off my p.f.'s , but I have Gandalf the Grey on order, so I will have 2 now I suppose.

I maye have to backtrack and get Indiana Jones and Darth Vader again.

:lol What did you tell me yesterday?

Good for you buddy. :) I'm glad you are getting him. He came out good.

I'll probably pick up the regular down the road at some point. Don't like the exclusive...I'd never display him with the pistol. The coin and compass are what make this piece.

And I'm pleasantly surprised about the price. $350 or over and he would have been off my to-buy list.

That's a BINGO!

I'm thinking the same thing Mike. This PF is along the lines of the ROTLA Indy PF in terms of interest and demand, so I think your numbers are pretty close.

From the first photo we saw on Facebook yesterday morning I loved EVERYTHING about this guy except the left arem pose holding out the coin. Seemed a bit 'awkward' to me. But the more I've looked at it, the more it's grown on me.

I do like the switch-out hand possibility holding the compass - for variety. Not totally sold on the EX holding the flintlock. Looks more like someone asked him directions and he's pointing 'over there' with it.

Would have preferred a smirking sculpt with hat as the EX. :angelsmil

Also would have liked it if we got the Captain's jacket too. But I guess that would have put the cost overall closer to the $399 of the Blackbeard. And Jack is priced really nicely right now IMO.

That said though, overall he looks AMAZING. The tailoring is topnotch, the gear is incredible, and the base is STELLAR! Love that you can move the bottles and lantern around to mix-up the base display too! (hope the lantern is battery powered with a switch so that the light can go on an off :D)

Speaking of lantern...wonder if it's possible for jack to be holding it using the compass hand attachment? Hmmmm. Another possibilty for a different pose option maybe? :naughty

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

Like a lot of you, I'm cool with the standard as the gun's not doing it for me.

The lantern DOES seem to light up. On SS's site, photo #5 shows it dark and photo #18 (where the lantern is in front) shows it lit. Awesome.

I just noticed that too! Awesome!!!

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

This could be a mock-up, They confirmed in the chat last night that the GtG PF will have a light-up feature but that the picture posted was only a mock-up.

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

Threw these together really quickly in Photoshop, so please ignore that these items are still on the base too. Just a thought as to whether it will be possible for Jack to hold a bottle or the lantern using the 'compass holding' hand...I sure hope so. These make for some really cool options for display too!

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

Nice work, Fett!

That lantern option is killing me. If it does indeed light up, I think I just found a new $300 night-light! ;)

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

Nice - I'm liking this. Dang - I'm tempted.

Re: Sideshow PF Jack Sparrow In Progress

That's terrific. Funny enough, I was just talking about this possibility with Sean last night. It does work, doesn't it? If it lights up, it would be awesome. Not so Sparrow-esque, but cool in low light.

Well, you know what they say about 'Great Minds' Greg! :lol
