Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

Now that the Terminator print is shipping maybe they'll get the other one up for PO.

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

Does anyone know if I can keep an art print rolled up in the tube for over a year or will that damage it?

When I bought my custom frame I was told by the person working that it's not good to keep them in the tube for an extended period of time. I mean, she made it sound like it was a good thing I'd brought it in basically the day after receiving it! She said that it can cause the print to permanently stay rolled...well, you know what I mean. Like, if you buy a poster from the store that comes all rolled up, if you unroll it, it'll still roll itself back up. That type of thing.

So she said that it's best to get it out of the tube ASAP. I know a few fellow Freaks have picked up some portfolios to hold their prints in until they get around to framing them, as they keep them flat and protected! Zod mentioned what kind he bought a dozen or so pages back...look for when this thread had some Daredevil print pictures, and you'll find his post about portfolios shortly after, I believe!

I'd say that's the best and cheapest option to keep them protected until you get around to framing them! Or if you just want to keep them in there like he does, then that'll work too!

Thanks for the info mate.
I have bought a bunch of prints from Sideshow but they are being sent home while i'm travelling so I wont be able to take them out till end of next year.
I'll have to get my bro to buy a portfolio to place them in.

Golden_boy is right. I had no problems flattening out my current posters they've pancaked out with no issues. BUT my first few never completely flatten. They have a bit of a curl and you notice it when they're on the portfolio because the page is curled abit. invest into a portfolio worth the price.

Yeah I think it's worth it to keep them safe.
Going out to buy one now

Glad to help! I think that's a good plan, especially to know that you'll come home to safe, flat, protected prints ready to flip through! :hi5:

Most epic Livestream music ever! :lol Looks like the salute is less of a salute, and even less of a "blocking the sun" motion, right now. Kinda looks like she's putting her arm up as though she's going to faint, or like she's waving at someone?

Here's an in-progress shot for those who can't pop in:

Doesn't look like a salute but doesn't look to bad either. My Terminator Print isn't coming today. The postal code got screwed up and it was going to the wrong place s hopefully they fixed the problem and it comes to the actually address. I was getting worried so soon I should know the day it's coming.

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

I'm always amazed by such little things when it comes to paintings and such. When I was growing up, I'd watch Bob Ross on TV -- even as a kid -- and just be amazed that he'd tap the brush a few times and a tree would appear because of it. So crazy how that works. Just popped back in and saw Artgerm had added some lighter blue to the arm/breast area, and it looks crazy like sunlight! I mean, it's just the addition of a lighter colour, but when you see it, it actually feels like sunlight is hitting the body.

I'm loving the progress so far! I think Artgerm mentioned that he was going for a "taking in the view" gesture and definitely not a salute.

I think that makes more sense. While the hairline was the major issue when I saw the statue pics from SDCC, I think the salute was a misfire in terms of a pose.
