Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

No, bransen. There's also a black canary print that should be coming also. Wow, that huntress print looks really cool and it's a hand-signed by AG. Gotta have these 2 for sure.

Yeah I was kinda panicking... I got all of his SSC prints except Harley and I really don't wanna miss anymore. Definitely grabbing these 2 :clap

I'll grab the Huntress and Black Canary prints too if some unframed ones go up for preorder.

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

Everyone who gets the unframed pieces when you frame them what do you spend on frames? Do you buy custom made frames or ready made ones? Do you get cheaper frames for the $90 prints and better quality frames (acid free etc) for the $200+ prints?

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

I'd bet a Batwoman print is on the way. He's done a print for all the other female DC PF's.

If SS offered at least a conservation grade glass with UV protection, I would buy their acrylic frame. But, it's a regular glass cause I've asked them. And the acrylic frame breaks easily, cause it's not as strong as wood. So, what I do is I go to my local framer that offers a wooden frame, archival materials and either a conservation grade or museum quality glass. I bring in 2 prints for a discount for doing 2. It usually runs about $190 a piece but with 2 it's a bit cheaper. If you get the SS frame, then compare it to what a local framer in your area offers and you will see a world of difference.

SSC frame is fine for me it looks nice they do a pretty good job, michaels would charge more. I don't display my prints outside in direct sunlight so I could care less about paying more for uv glass or better quality framing materials

You don't have to display your framed prints outside to get damage. You are also paying Sideshow for the better grade materials, due to their price point, but they're giving you **** materials instead. Enjoy

They don't look like **** too me but I'll take your word for it. I took an unframed print to michaels and they wanted more money to frame it so i don't see how I'm paying more for ****. I'd be paying more for better quality which I don't care about. When money is no object you can always spend more, but ssc frames are good enough for me, the additional cost for better quality frame isn't worth it too me, if it is for you great

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

When I was talking about going to your local framer, trust me, I never meant a Michael's just to be clear. It is true that a Michaels will charge close to $400 for a single print of 18x24, the size of these SS prints. How do I know this, cause I went in there to get a price quote. The reason why they charge these astronomical prices is cause they send them out to another framer to do the job. Unbelieveable cause they have a a big store with what looks like a room for framing jobs. In my area, there are a few private framing shops that you'll be shocked cause they give you a pretty good frame job at your budget. But this all is if you care for your prints and you want them looking good in a quality frame. If not, you can go to Michaels for a $24.95 frame or even Walmart has frames that these prints would fit perfectly in. It's all how you feel about your prints.

I didn't say they look like ****. I said they were made of ****, just to be clear. No better than the cheap **** you can buy anywhere, but SS charges you like you're paying for the quality stuff. If people are comfortable being gouged for ****, that's their choice.

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

Michael's is a horrible place to get something framed. They can do a nice job (most of the time), but the cost is outrageous (all of the time). A local, independent framer is the way to go.

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

WW and Cheetah but they weren't based on his art.

True. This may or may not be based on his art, since the only Batwoman pieces that I know of from him were for a Batgirl comic cover

and this art for the Batwoman DC Cover Girls statue.

Still, Sideshow should know by now that Artgerm prints sell out so a Batwoman print should be a no-brainer.

I use frames from Walmart that fit's them perfectly. They look good on display and work until I get around to framing my prints at Hobby Lobby (the only place close by that does frames).

Hobby Lobby is a good place to find things that not all art stores carry. I could not find Pearl Ex pigments for a metallic finish on your paint job anywhere not even Michael's or Walmart but good ole Hobby Lobby had it.

Yup. I've found some really good art supplies there. :D

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

A second chance Gal Gadot, WW print by Olivia in her iconic defensive pose. Now I don't feel so badly about missng out in her 1st print. This 1 is so much better. :yess:

Where is this from? BTW - Olivia had this original up at her booth at SDCC along with a couple other wonder woman pieces. I asked if any of them would become prints, and she said no
