Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

Man, this thread is going to be a bad for my wallet. I received my WW print last week and it looks great. The first thing I noticed was it's kinda light. After reading the last few pages, I'm probably going to go get it reframed at a local place with better materials. This is worst then Hot Toys, at least when I preorder, I can decide if I want the deluxe/exclusive or just the regular edition. With these prints, I have to hope the framed version does not sell out in order for a chance at the unframed one. That or just buy the framed version and go get it reframed anyways.
:gah:

And I thought the WW print will be the only print I buy, now it looks like the WW print is the only print I will buy this month. At least I hope, it's the 31st, just a few more hours...

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

When I was talking about going to your local framer, trust me, I never meant a Michael's just to be clear. It is true that a Michaels will charge close to $400 for a single print of 18x24, the size of these SS prints. How do I know this, cause I went in there to get a price quote. The reason why they charge these astronomical prices is cause they send them out to another framer to do the job. Unbelieveable cause they have a a big store with what looks like a room for framing jobs. In my area, there are a few private framing shops that you'll be shocked cause they give you a pretty good frame job at your budget. But this all is if you care for your prints and you want them looking good in a quality frame. If not, you can go to Michaels for a $24.95 frame or even Walmart has frames that these prints would fit perfectly in. It's all how you feel about your prints.

When I got LTROI framed, the quote was over $900 without the coupons and discounts

Yeah, the $400 price that was quoted to me is after a 65% discount which they always advertise to draw people in. So you can see you save squat (your favorite word) cause you still spend an arm and a leg to let a Michael's do the job.

At least I had 85% off in coupons :lol

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

Where is this from? BTW - Olivia had this original up at her booth at SDCC along with a couple other wonder woman pieces. I asked if any of them would become prints, and she said no

No, the Olivia print with her iconic bracelets crossed deflecting gunfire is supposed to happen, cause it was shown during SDCC with an ES of 400.

I have had huge prints (4'x2' w/matting) framed at Michael's with their museam/highest quality materials/glass and it was only $350-$380. I also just had two 3'x2' prints framed there with the same materials and it was only $220 total for both of them. The quotes that I'm reading here don't make any sense, seeing as I've had a lot of prints framed at Michaels and never had those exorbitant costs.

The one I was talking about is 30x40. I ended up only paying $190 with tax

That's the quote that was given to me which was close to $400 with discounts for a SS 18x24 print over at Michael's. Maybe my area just charges more but it was quoted with top of the line materials, double-matted and of course museum grade glass.

That's why...the matting and the glass. I just get a straight frame, with either glass or plexi depending on the print size

HI,

I just received the Alex Ross's Liberty and Justice print; they sent me the framed one, but that's not what I ordered. They charged me the unframed price + $ 30 shipping to Canada. The frame felt CHEAP, and its cost more to ship, right ? I will contact SS to see whats going on

I get my unframed JL print on thurs and it's costing me $14.90 from Cali to the Sunshine state (FL). So if you got a framed for just $30 shipping you did pretty well cause you didn't get charged for framing.
