FWIW... recieved my replacement body last week. Inspected today and all is good; packaging, paint, clothing, head and arm fittings, very happy to now have her displayed in the collection.

So I had problems with my EX paint peeling and asked SS for a replacement. No biggie they are pretty good I thought.

I get a response that they are unable to replace the item however if I destroy the item and send photo's they will give me a full refund.

So I thought to myself "Wait a minute there are regulars still available" So I asked if I could keep the EX items so I could then order a regular version to build my own EX or maybe they can just send me the body of regular to replace my EX.

No Dice, SS apparently will not help me here because they need to protect the edition sizes. WTF does that mean?

I must say I am really disappointed with the way this has gone I mean it makes sense to me to use a reg version to replace an EX or am I just nuts?

Yea, it would make sense to please a customer with a faulty item over protecting ES but thats just how SSC rolls. i do think they accommodate customers fairly well. I have had 2 arm replacements and a body replacement and in the end, a perfect psylocke for the time being. Course, i am positive should anything else go wrong with the body, I am screwed. Even though this is all their fault for having bad paint apps, it seems they still have a timeline for how long they will supply customers with replacements. So far, they just had new batches made for people who requested replacements. Once those ran out, that was it. They aren't going to use regular bodies because those are already marked for their total ES count. New replacement pieces are basically given the same ES # they are replacing. So, it sux but I'm afraid you are out of options unless you go for the refund. You could just buy another regular but that would obviously mean you are paying double to get a perfect EX.

Somebody in the other forum found out that Psylocke was painted without primer. The replacement body looks good, but it doesn't guarantee the parts (Hands, heads, and base) won't crack in the future. It's better to return then to sit and worry for the next few months or years.

What about the Regulars? Are they knowingly selling regulars with the same faulty paint app?

That little credit wont offset what these statues depreciate in value. At least with Rogue it was up front and didn't creep up months later. This is a new and terrible low for SS. Hopefully it won't happen with other statues but it makes me wonder if anything I order in the future could have this problem.

Between messed up heads and bad bodies the X-Women just cant win at Sideshow.

im really confused, i would like to get a reg if i order before 9th i can get it on a 85$ credit which expires then, dont know what to do

Well, it sounds like either you spend your $85 credit on something or you lose it. That's a big savings, so I suggest you buy something if there is something you want. I expect that whatever you use your credit on, the return and exchange policy will be the same as on anything else, so that being true, if you want a Psylocke and nothing else as much, buy one. You can ask SS to inspect it before they ship.

The original is on the left. It was very minor, and I was going to let it go originally. However, when I saw the spiderweb cracking on the base, and the cracking on the legs I decided that if I was going to ask for those to be replaced anyway then I might as well get a new Ex head as well. The replacement arrived broken in the same fashion. Hence, a third Ex head.

Got it, that sucks, I have taken the bullet on some of those small ones before. I think that was smart to take advantage of the return policy while you can.

The deal I see with this, and this is totally Sideshow protecting their investments, profits and pieces.

They lose $600+ worth of items by breaking up a reg and giving it to you for the replacement on the Ex. Well in short if you just want a refund then they are just out $300+ instead of $600+.

I'm sure they have a overhead for replacements given like the posts up above stated but once that overhead is gone, it's no dice.

my EX still perfect

x2 - and I check mine every time someone post " .... and now mine has paint issues". And I have even tried taken pictures from all angles at superhigh res and blowing them up to 100 times the size just in case there's a problem that can't been seen with the naked eye (very popular around here) ....... still no cracks whatsoever.

I don't really understand your logic. Since the customer pays $300 for one, if SS sends out a replacement, SS is out $300.
If you get a refund, SS is out $300, unless they can fix it or sell it to someone else, in which case, they are out nothing.
However, SS is out lower shipping costs on a destroyed statue that is replaced. Exchange= shipped from you to SS and shipped from SS to you again.

Replacement for broken statue= shipping from SS to you, period. That's half the shipping cost on a broken replacement.

Of course, their costs aren't REALLY $300 per statue in any case, so they aren't really out $300 anyway. Supposedly, there are only a certain number of statues they sell, and they have replacements for defective ones of that number only.

If for some reason, all of those replacements are never needed, does SS sell them as new items, even though they would be statues above and beyond the stated ES? Do they become artist proofs?

I think that SS loses the least money on a partial refund.

I just got a reply in regards to my defective replacement. They say they can't supply a new body as they ran out. My replacement had a hole on the costume, which was quite obvious. They are offering me a partial refund. I'm not sure what to do now. This has become a real headache.

If u haven't Destroyed the first Psy suit, just peel the top carefully. It's glued on but can be easily remove. You will need to buy glue though.
