99% of people who bought Skaar never heard of him before. They bought him for the same reason they bought Rhino

i'd say that's about right, people bought the look not the source material

Put down my order today. I have a feeling they'll be launching a full line of these spidey villain comiquettes and rhino will be one I'd regret not getting. The rest of them must be coming down the pipeline!

Am I alone here? I think the sculpt, pose & paint look amazing, but the face part of the portraits look aweful! Now I know Rhino has never been "quite the looker" but that face is just not working for me. I'm not hating here! Just giving "my" opinion.
We are still allowed to do that on this site right?

I have no problem with your opinion but I have no issues with the faces. I actually might be in the minority but I like both faces.

I just keep seeing posts about this already being a grail!
As cool as this Rhino is I see him being more of what Sabertooth PFF ended up as... An amazing Statue that never quite got the sales he should have. Heck I think Sabertooth EX is still not sold out on the SS site, but I could be wrong.

Oh, & congrats to me for my 1,000 post! lol!

I personally love the face as it's very comic-booky, they didn't go for accurate face proportions or realism, which i like

Yeah, I agree they went for the comic book style with the sculpt. Of course being a comic book character that makes a hellova lot of sense. Although I would have liked a more realistic portrait & the "comic" look switch out instead of two equally "comic book proportioned" faces.
Still an awesome & massive statue! Congrats in advance to those who get him!

This Rhino is approximately 1:4 scale. Future 1:4 scale will be PF. Unless you prefer 1:5 comiquette, LOL. Long live 1:5!!!!!!

Ordered and NRD charged. This will be my first Marvel statue. My previous Marvel figures were all 1/6.

I like Rhino's design and simply must buy this even at $400 and despite the fact that I don't currently collect Marvel statues. All my PF and 1/4 statues collection were mainly from the LOTR and Star Wars lines plus the Alien and Predator licenses.

Congrats! I remember when I got my first 1/4 scale after a couple of Bowen's I was blown away.

I totally understand that, I preordered this because I really like it. I also have several on my list like Sups, Bats and the two droids I plan on getting. That said, I haven't really seen the final products on those projects yet and because you never know how they are gonna turn out I sucked it up a bought this one just in case I end up not liking any of the other future favs this year. I can always part with Rhino if need be.

Your list and mine are similar. I want the droid set and Hulk which should be up for PO this year but if they are too much I'll pass. Plus Batman and Deadpool which are probably going up this year, likely at the "normal" PF price. We've seen them so I'm sure I'll order. And SS said Wonder Woman will be up by the end of the year. But you make sense and this Rhino is awsome. Gonna be an expensive 2013.
