Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Flawed? Yes.
Acceptable? Indubitably.

This thing is a beauty, kinda forgot about the flaws when I took Spidey out of the box. No squiggly lines though so far, the kid who painted mine might actually have satisfactory skills on tracing.

Same here, I guess. But whoever was responsible with the base on mine needs to be castrated!:emperor

P.S.
Also got the calendar!

Me too!:yess::blissy

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Well hopefully mine should be arriving from Secret Compass either tommorow or Friday. I'm excited but I'm having feelings of dread about the paint issues.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

So, this arrived today with the box gouged beyond help. I know, the sight alone is enough to give a seasoned collector a coronary. Naturally, I was livid but what can I do? Beat the delivery lady with the snow shovel!? Anyhoo, let's continue, shall we?

Until this...

I don't really want to send it back despite the chipped paint, sloppy paint job, the slight wobble, etc. Never done it before. I can live with the squiggly webbings but the base?.....AAARRGH!.......GRRRRRRRR!...........I don't know!....*siiiiigh*...Awesome sculpt, though! One of SS's finest. Paint job, that's another story...:monkey4

P.S.

I take back what I said about the castration comment. That's too harsh. Taking away their rice privileges will do. Trust me, they'll learn their lesson!.............Okay, I kid.:D

That's the spirit Jinxx! :D

Man, the chip on the base is pretty bad. You have any experience painting these statues? Or maybe another board member can give you some tips on touching it up yourself?

sorry to see yours has damage, such a beautiful piece. Hopefully you can get it fixed or something best of luck to you!

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I would be tempted to send it back just because the box is damaged. :(

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Find this at Michael's

Sculpey-Grey-Firm.gif

Putting the spot up, prolly just a small smidge, might be able to smoothen that lil spot with just your finger so you don't need any sculpey tools.

BOOOOM, like THUNDER, like lightning BOOOM!!!!!!! Some V Oil 105 saloon hair blower!!!!

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I need to fix one of my statues too. Looks like a trip to Michael's will be in order. What type of paints? Acrylics?

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Can I just get my money back, specifically the $57.85 I paid for custom? I mean, that's enough for paints and accessories, right? Can I actually make that request?????

Michael's will have Folk Art, etc... and it works, some types might dry a lil sticky but it's normally with their metallic or black colors.

Cidatel is great acrylic (dries super fast) but I've only found it games-workshop comic shops for War-Hammer miniatures.
