Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Can someone post a pic of spidey in the styro pls.
Or put it in the appropriate thread; If I ever can find that one back..

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I still haven't heard back from customer service, but it seems really lame to have kept converting waitlists as late as last week without replacement stock, given the no-doubt steady stream of complaints that they must have been receiving on this.

That is one part of the sad story. The other one is that before shipping my replacement they (Customer Service) told me they inspect every one of them before shipping. Do You guys know what that means?
US QC is as bad as Chinese QC. Let 's stop blaming the poor chinese guy and put all the blame on Sideshow.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

The styrofoam my Spidey came shipped in had a huge sticker on it saying "PASSED Quality Control Inspection" or some such thing.

Admittedly, my statue had no noticeable breakages or anything like that, but the paint apps are ridiculous. To say that it individually passed any QC inspection is laughable.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I received my Spidey EX last week and was VERY happy with it. BUT, the paint isn't PERFECT and any collector here will tell you that there is NO such thing as a perfect statue. My piece had SMALL line issues, but it's so minuscule I won't even bother to mention it..... If you're looking for a 100% flawless statue you need to find another hobby. EVERY piece you collect is going to have some imperfection. However those imperfections are only noticeable upon CLOSE inspection. But realistically, WHO is going to be staring at a statue from INCHES away?? So realistically, unless your statue has a broken limb or has severe paint issues then I'd say you have a winner ;)

This piece was sculpted and designed superbly. The mass production piece may not be 100% perfect, but it's pretty solid. So I'd say unless it's broken or has BIG/noticeable paint issues just enjoy it :D

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Do you still believe these pieces are individually inspected? Hundreds of Spider-Man comiquettes+ thousands of other pieces from different lines??? Most probably the QC consists in opening a few from here and a few from there, and that's it.

Mine said QC PASSED. Could be BS, but I take them for their word that someone at least gave it a look-over. I just don't think they took a very close look. Or at least, not for the issues that I ultimately found with this.

I've had 7 Sideshow 1/4 scale statues at this point, and though you do notice minor imperfections on anything (well, maybe apart from my Hulk PF which looks just about perfect), the issues with my Spidey are much, much worse than anything else I've seen from Sideshow. I'm not talking a couple of areas where the black gets a millimeter off the line, I'm talking about it looking like a 5 year old tried to haphazardly fill in the lines (which may have been the case), with the line going way off and looking cheap and amateurish.

If this statue cost $50, I probably wouldn't give that a second thought. But it was nearly $400 shipped, and is supposedly a high end collectible. As such, I have certain expectations that it won't have issues of this magnitude.

I'm glad that yours doesn't seem to have these problems, though.

So true, cloth would really be kickass on this statue

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I spoke at length yesterday w/ one of SS's wholesale reps. She told me that there have been many QC issues w/ paint on these Spidey statues. She said the majority of issues w/ the paint were w/ the hand connecting to the wall (mine had multiple black smudges between the eyes, nothing on the wall hand). She also told me that they have had problem securing replacement for people as this statue is in high demand and that I will be the recipient of the "very last one" they have available. lol what a load of crap.
I don't understand how they are continually doing this to pple who are waiting for returns, while they are filling waitlists all the while. Its really irritating.
To make it worse they sent me an email w/ the return shipping label last tuesday, a week ago today. The label had the wrong return address though so I contacted them about it that day. Never got a new label or a response until yesterday when I called them again, and they said to just use the old label and the they'll make sure everything comes out right. So a week went by for no reason at all, and i could possibly already have already had my replacement. Can't wait til this is over.

Seems to me that they are getting overloaded with return requests across multiple items (particularly the Mark VI) and just don't want to deal with it anymore. Opening the waitlist back up while numerous complaints are in the pipeline seems hard to understand otherwise.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

It's unfortunate that people are receiving these with flaws...... BUT at least SS is willing to work with you and offer some sort of resolution (replacement, a credit or simply a refund).

Going through eBay or a retailer will only drag out any possible issues, so it's always easiest to go directly through SS..... :lecture

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

That's true, and customer service is still one of Sideshow's very best assets in my opinion. But I ordered this statue from Sideshow in case I needed to get a replacement, given that their QC seems to be really spotty lately. I didn't buy it hoping I could get a refund. I just wish these issues wouldn't exist to begin with, because these have the potential to be outstanding collectibles. :(

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

everyone should just breaks theirs and return it to SS!!!!! BOYCOTT SS will never learn. the fact they can only give you a partial refund or a full refund is not acceptable. They can just do that for all other future releases and just get away with it if its a KEY Character such as spiderman. that is just my 2 cents. blah!

........not cool.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

If you break it, then you're not going to get a refund.

And how is offering you a full refund not acceptable? That's the most any business is obligated to a customer, to make the customer no worse off than before the transaction took place.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

well i opened my replacement and it's almost as bad as the one i sent to get replaced. still have lots of paint smudges and paint inconsistencies. is the pinky supposed to be on the wall?
