Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

anyone know what exactly is the issue with the paint/lines that was mentioned here, from the photos everything looked great.

i never got this piece off ebay because of those problems mentioned, but looking at the latest photos dont see anything wrong with it.

The line issues (specifically, the black 'webbing') were primarily focused on the face from what I remember, but some people had issues on the arms, back, etc. It wasn't an extremely common thing, but there were a number of people who had issues.

Wow those are some nice pics. Love the Stan Lee signature to. Did you meet him at SDCC?
Thanks, Phil. Nope, he was at the Phoenix Con last year and I simply couldn't pass up a chance to get the legend's sig on this fine statue. :rock

I only wish he was going to be there this year so I could get his sig on my Hulk Comiquette. :(

He's gonna be in our local ComiCon & don't mind if I take a page out of your book & get my Spidey base signed as well Barb. :monkey3

ah thanks, so basically missing some black lines? that should be easy to fix.

Easy said than done. Alot of em were smudges as well. Luckily, mine only have a few and not in prominent area.

To the contrary, I think sloppy paint work was the norm rather than the exception with this statue. Some were better than others, of course, but a lot of the statues that look nicer are probably too far away to tell any different. I had to return one to get one that was acceptable, and it isn't perfect. I've actually got two now, and both have their issues, but appear as good as I was gonna get from Sideshow based on pics.

Here are some pics from my first statue:

Just lazy, sloppy paint apps.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I have Venom and always wished I had purchased Spider-Man when he was still available at retail price, but it's cool. I'm thinking of thinning down my Marvel collection to just the classic Avengers and Venom at this point. I wanted to get some of the X-Men, but a lot of my favorites have ended up looking pretty bad, so that's not looking as attractive now.

We know another Hulk is coming this year but I rather see some other statues that haven't been made yet. I would even like to see some more DC statues made then what we are getting now.
