Wow! great pics guys! Thanks for sharing. I am really tempted now to pull the trigger knowing the figure will look good on my Hasbro Bike, and I am even thinking of getting my old modeling pain out and doing some weathering.

My last question is about quality of the figure and how much better might a Hot Toys version be down the road. I mean there is better and there is BETTER, and a lot of that has to do with how good the Sideshow figure is. I have upgraded almost all of my previous Sideshow figures to Hot Toys versions except for one- Boba Fett. I like the ESB colors just fine and while the Hot Toys figure may be "better", it wasn't enough better to me to make an "upgrade" worth it. If I pick up this Scout Trooper, I want to feel the same way about it, and even if a better version comes down the line I don't want to feel like it is really that much better that I will regret having this one or feel I need to replace it. The basic execution of how the Sideshow Fett figure was made was good and a "better" figure down the line by another company can't take away from that. So, how well is this Scout Trooper made, how do you think it will stand up over time? How many people do you think will want to upgrade if and when Hot Toys does a version down the road?

The Sideshow Scout from accuracy point of view is quite bad. I think HT will be better.

This figure was a disappointment to me. There aren't many figures I get and then sell only a couple of months later - this was one of those.

Well, I really like mine. And I'm picking up my speeder bike next monday! [emoji847]

I'll get rid of it as soon as I get the HT one. Hopefully HT will make one some day.

It's a decent enough figure, it just doesn't really look much like the Scouts in ROTJ - if HT does one, I hope it comes out as well as thier Snowie. I viewed the SSC Scout as kind of a "concept sniper" design variation and on that basis I kind of liked it. It did bug me I had to dremel down the body so the arms could lay flat though.

I cast the rifle stock/grip area and made a bit more realistic rifle (combined with a MG42 barrel) before I sold the figure/rifle. The original rifle is really decent though (it really makes the figure IMO) - I think only the ATAT driver's rifle is better.

While I agree that it's not a very accurate figure, I doubt I'll ever sell mine. It was the figure that got me into collecting after all.

I'm quite sure the HT Scout will be more accurate. I'm mostly interested in the helmet work, but the armor and costume needs work as well. Maybe a better Scout blaster too.
Personally I don't care about any rifle that didn't appear in OT - don't care about vintage Kenner or whatever. I have a few extra DLT-19/MG-34 rifles if I ever want a rifle for the Scout, but so far I never felt the urge to display it with a non-screen used gun.

So as far as accuracy goes, where does it fail and to what degree?

Not comprehensive, just the inaccuracies that bugged me most:

Helmet inaccurate/off in too many ways to describe (lets settle for "too vertically stretched")

Soft codpiece way too small (looks like panties)

Several arm armor pieces too small

The Scouts were a crisp semi-glossy white, but the SSC fig has off-white/yellowish dull armor

Biker pistol is about 50% too small, making it look like the Noisy Cricket from MIB

Too much weathering - no scout in ROTJ looked even close to this (but some would like this)

Special mention: they did a flip-up visor mechanism that was abandoned/glued shut (presumably to save on the $$ for the headsculpt underneath):gah:

On the plus side:

Loved the forest base

Loved the rifle

Body was tight and posed well (though I had to dremel to get arms to lay flat)

Feels like a quality figure

I've noticed the inaccuracies even more now that I've slowly starting to build a Scout Trooper costume for myself. And I still like the figure.

Wow. U guys have ruined my night. Arrived today in box. Thankfully I am not a stickler for 'movie accurate'. Cool is cool to me.

Thanks for the rundown TaliBane. I'm still weighing if I want to get this one despite the inaccuracies or wait and roll the dice Hot Toys will make one - though Hot Toys might be more expensive by the time it comes out. I plan to put it on my Hasbro bike (itself not accurate) and maybe some of the inaccuracies of the figure, like the codpiece, won't be as noticeable sitting on the bike in a riding position. The boots kind of bother me, they look too big around the calf leaving an open space, not sure how accurate that is but it doesn't look very good.

No need to let it ruin your night, if you like it that's fantastic! I hope you enjoy it. I'm just trying to avoid possible buyers remorse, when there are other figures I also would like to spend money on.

I'm pretty happy with the Scout Trooper too.

I don't really notice the inaccuracies until Hot Toys makes a version like they have with the Snowtrooper.

Now the Sideshows Snowtroopers small eyes really bother me compared to the Hot Toys version. :gah:

I enjoy my scout very much. If you have a chance of grabbing the speeder bike, the display will look even better.

If this fig were $125 I'd say, 'do it'

the inaccurate knee pads and crap base body make this a huge PASS. Considering SSC normally does great with weapons also dissapoints with how the guns turned out.

I just received mine (exclusive edition)... I found it awesome, and better quality than I expected

I wouldn't worry...so far it's the best out there...when hot toys comes out with theirs, grab that one too, and then you have some variety...and something to look forward to as well :)

I have the sideshow one and its alright for sideshow, until hot toys comes out with there's....
But I'm a biker scout fan, so I don't mind the variances And actually appreciate the effort thus far.

At last it's not as bad as their stormtroopers were-- those were really off :)
