The paint job on mine looks alot better then the one in the video. Maybe he got a bad one painted by a disgruntled Chinese factory worker that showed up to work drunk that day.

& I was that disgruntled Chinese factory worker! & I wasn't drunk, I was merely tipsy.

& if you did get one of mine that I painted whilst enjoying a snifter of Southern Comfort just be thankful that you didn't get one of the ones that I painted a moustache on. I'm not proud but I did several of those. :drink

Ahaha! Troll! Me, I don't think so:) But no problem for me buddy, you can call me whatever you want! I will continue to say the truths and be always objective! If you feel better, just put me on the ignore list!

Keep fighting the good fight. You will get along just fine in the man of steel/Batman vs superman movie thread too.

I don't get what you want to mean but whatever! I love MOS as a movie but for sure it has some "meh" parts! I loved Sideshow and still has sympathy for them but they are not at the top of their game anymore, sadly! And if this forum is a democratic place, I have all the dam right to critique like the people who have damn right to defense anything! Thanks:)

^It's just that you're trying to convince people who actually own this statue, and who like it btw, that they shouldn't. You've said your piece, move on. They like it. You don't. Either way it's cool, there just isn't any reason to continue to harp on it.

Remy, great pics man. Glad you're happy and hope you enjoy it!

I agree...this debate is tiresome. The pics have been a breath of fresh air. I'd take pics of mine but i'm waiting for my replacement

It's just a drama! Congrats to the ones who are happy with their statues but if someone defends the usage of PVC in PF's then I have something to say, sorry! I am not try to convince anyone! Are you happy with your products, no problem for me! But don't forget that I am a customer too who has purchased products from Sideshow so it's my right to critique the defaults of SS for guaranteeing the safety of my future shoppings! Otherwise I don't care if we are agree or not on anything!

So here is my review. I dont think i have been this hard on a Sideshow statue.

Thanks for the great review, many details that wasn't mentioned by all other posts, like you can actually squeeze the pvc. Wow, SS keeps saying it's High Quality pvc that I thought it was hard and unbendable plastic but I was wrong.

And I don't think putting this figure among other statues will make it unnoticeable, because different materials have different reflective coefficients or reflect differently before light source. All you can do is diminish the light intensity to make it less reflective.

Thank you Marker. Just watched MOS again, so indeed I'm appreciating having the figure a little more. :)

Love how Pitu was holding and make MOS fly around with his hand. Reminds me when young and playing with figure :rotfl

lol! It feels like one. It was fun to hold it that way. You dont get to do that very often with a PF.

Here are some side to side shots of both the Superman Comic and Man of Steel. Havent seen em and thought id share.
By the way the pictures are screen caps of my reviews done for each statue. Both production pieces.

Thanks P!tu..!

Love your stuff and a big fan of your reviews, but you MUST light him right!

Cellphone and a lamp:

See how he looks at 8:06 when he places him in the LIT display case...

My hasbro figs look good with proper lighting. Doesn't mean they are a quality product.

yeah Qui Gon.... I am glad you like yours... But your argument does not stand up IMO... I should not have to find "perfect" lighting to make my 400.00 PF look good. Great lighting can make any piece look better for sure... But it should look great on it's own.

I don't have it and never plan on getting it. I take your word that it looks good in person... But there are some issues with the PVC switch and the cast lines and the overall cheapness of the look and feel to this 400.00 statue. Why didn't SSC ust make the head and hands Polystone and the body PVC... Seems like that couls have solved some problems... Looks like the head was just plopped on there anyways.

At least there won't be any breakages during transit :D

Some people jump on any opportunity to dis Sideshow... Again & again. Over & over.

In this case I agree, switching to PVC without warning was bad.

BUT... Don't like it? Don't buy it or return it. Say your piece and move on.

No, you weren't wrong. The PVC is solid, you can't "squeeze" it. P!tu never actually said that. He seemed to imply it a bit when he was handling it, but I write that down to his style. He bounces around and goes stream of consciousness at times which is why his reviews are fun to watch! I have the figure, I JUST went over to give it a squeeze, legs and sculpt...no dice. Maybe P!tu will come in and clarify.

Yes, and because it's made I'd PVC doesn't mean it's not. This is the part people can't seem to get past. I don't like the fact that it's PVC. I have a strong preference for polystone. But the PVC is simply not intruding on the look of the piece. I've seen some paint apps on this piece that are disappointing compared to others. I hope those who received pieces with substandard paint apps send theirs back for replacement. Maybe I just got lucky.

I hope SS learns from this, and the don't go PVC on a piece like this again (at least at this price point), but their figure in this case looks great. I wouldn't mind getting a $100 rebate check, though...

P!tu, are those shots of comic Supes the proto or production? Looks amazing...
