yeah Qui Gon.... I am glad you like yours... But your argument does not stand up IMO... I should not have to find "perfect" lighting to make my 400.00 PF look good. Great lighting can make any piece look better for sure... But it should look great on it's own.

I don't have it and never plan on getting it. I take your word that it looks good in person... But there are some issues with the PVC switch and the cast lines and the overall cheapness of the look and feel to this 400.00 statue. Why didn't SSC ust make the head and hands Polystone and the body PVC... Seems like that couls have solved some problems... Looks like the head was just plopped on there anyways.

That's fair, Jaws. I think that if you had him in front of you you'd agree that he looks as good as any production SS PF in person. But this particular PF looks outstanding with a bit of targeted lighting. And it's by no means hard to achieve. No multiple light sources, no pin point lasers (LOL), just a single light from above and front. Done.

Appreciate your comments. I think they're fair. But if you or anyone else is on the fence, you really should do yourself the favor of taking a look at him in person.

Oh, and thanks for looking at the video I posted! I think most people missed it or thought I was just quoting the P!tu video again...

Papo! so the pics i posted are screen caps from my reviews. The body can be squeezed but you have to do it hard which is why i tell peeps in the vid to not even try it, not for fear of messing the body but the suit. Also im not one to brag but i have also been working out so my power level may be over 9000!

:lol

Comic Supes looks spectacular!

Ok, so I just got brave and really applied the clamp to Supe's leg, and I was able to get some squeeze in! Looks like the PVC is quite thick, but he's hollow. SMH... SS, you're ridiculous. Where's my rebate!?

I'll still say he's a great presentation piece, but I don't see how you get to call him a PREMIUM format figure. As I've said before, I like this piece quite a lot, so no regrets, but no more...

Yeah dude! Comic Superman is amazing! Thats the main reason i was so harsh to MOS.

I'm not an expert on materials, but given the nature of PVC, I'm guessing they needed to use some form of vacuum molding process to cast these pieces, hence the at least partially hollow body. Just another reason why these choices are so inappropriate for Premium Format Figures.

I know I'm kinda pivoting on a few issues here from my original "presentation is king" stance, but knowing they are using premium materials for Premium Figures is part of the allure. I've always understood that which is why I get all the criticism of the piece. I just think it's also important to at some point separate the invisible from the observable and decide what you can live with.

Why did you erase your post Remy?

Lol, cause after viewing MOS again, I'm sitting there and appreciating the figure, the conversations here were getting too negative, so I just needed to take a step back.
As I said, I respect your opinion, I was at that same boat in getting upset with sideshow.
But if we put away the PVC thing aside for a moment, look at all the other factors past it, and essentially, there is actually a cool looking figure after all that.
I have the modded hot toys which is one of my favorite figures. So if I didn't like it, I could easily just send this back to SS and just stick to my HT MOS. But that's the thing, I actually like this figure just as much.

But I guess my opinion is skewed by the fact that I collect mainly 1/6 figures that are plastic.
So to me, it's like getting a 1/4 hot toys figure.
But for a lot of people who collect a lot of PF, in comparison to other Pf...yes, you probably won't like this.

And although I like this figure a lot, I still say it should have been around $299.
If someone later on decided that they don't want it, I don't think they'll get all their money back.
I don't think this will sell out.
For my collection, Its a nice addition so he's staying.

Oh, I think pitu got a really bad batch on the paintjob.
It looks like the forehead got smeared with some of the black from the hair, or the forehead just got way too much dark paint.
Mine doesn't look like that.

Agreed, so sideshow should stick to using polystone on PF, and make a separate line of 1/4 static PVC figures.
As I keep saying, this compares more to a hot toys than a PF.
The separate PVC line can be sideshows's competiton to hot toys since they're offering a competition figure at 1/4 scale.

They should call this new PVC line,
Sideshow Power Quarter scale. new line of 1/4 PVC figures...strong enough for your plumbing, strong enough for your figures. :lol

Not bad, really... Not bad at all.

Super Pitu Man :lol

Got one of these at Wizard World Tulsa today for $335. Inspected it there and it looks fine to me. Really light but the suit, paint, and sculpt look good. It would have cost me a little more than $400 with shipping from Sideshow so I'm glad I was able to get a great deal on one. I'll get some pics up sometime this week.

Just a quick poll to ask the forum if anybody has reached out to SS and received any reasonable response on how they're going to deal with the issues with the MOS PF (i.e. neck not flush, seam lines, PVC, cape wires, paint apps, etc.)?

Regarding the material switch, the responses from Igo and AlexSS and SS Customer service appear to be quite divergent: In one statement they state that they have the right to choose whatever material they wish to achieve the desired look, and the next statement the suggest that they had no knowledge of the PVC switch, and are as shocked as the collectors (The Mule has attempted to get a response over on SF on that issue). Moreover, the PVC fiasco has undoubtably resulted in numerous cancellations of not only the MOS, but also the Reeve PF as it is composed - at least in part - from PVC, although we have no firm evidence to suggest which part. This has got to be a huge PR nightmare for them, and would hope they'd be willing to do something to make this right with the community. I'm not suggesting a replacement with polystone (although it would be nice), but a rebate or something? Maybe I'm naive...
