I wonder how many people got booted off the wait list and what formula they used (10% over, 25%, 50%). I went on within maybe 10 minutes of sell out so was surprised to see them cull the WL within a couple of weeks. Sure the hype was in overload but no doubt a good chunk of folks jumped on the WL simply to speculate. I'm sure part of the strategy behind the culling was to convert as many orders to the regular as possible as quickly as possible. Who knows how well that went, but I would guess the speculators immediately jumped ship and most collectors are simply holding out for an incentive or price cut in addition to SDCC, although SS will probably be pushing this heavily and will probably get a lot of orders. I also would be surprised to see a low quantity alert or fake sell it. However the reality is this is a $1,200 statue with a 3,500 ES. The chances of the regular going up in the secondary is slim to none. To me the regular is worth maybe $1k, because I don't see it selling for much more than that in the secondary for a few years. The most I'd pay for the EX in the secondary is $1,500 although I'm sure there are folks who will still shell out north of $2k, that's just where I personally draw the line. I considered using the $50 coupon on Thanos (Heck I could buy it outright with stored RPs like I'm planning for the HT Hulkbuster) but that still doesn't bring it down enough. Maybe I'll participate in some of the contests during SDCC and try to rack up points and credits (is there a way to get $200 worth?). If I can get the regular down to $1k I'll consider the $200 difference will go into a custom head. This is a magnificent statue and would have been thrilled for the EX, and I will get one, I just don't want to overpay. Worst case I'm completely wrong and the regular sells out and goes up in value in the secondary. I just don't see that happening.
