I don't mind either version of a neck. It has to be done right, however. If you're going to have such a large gap, than I'll sacrifice some limited articulation for a better overall look. It's glaring on these SS figures and they ain't cheap.

Yeah I always prefer separate necks as it allows for natural posing (since most people don't stand perfectly stiff like that unless standing at attention), but they still could have done a much better job hiding that gap.

This is light-years away from what we got with Blondie; sculpt-wise. Eastwood is recognizable. Which makes me sad that Blondie was first and had to suffer a bad sculpt. Hopefully they can revisit him as Joe or Manco. The neck joint is an issue, but I do enjoy the extra movement. I wish some of these came with a hatless sculpt. Alternate clothes options would have been great. Like the Roman collar. The pleather items sadden me. I've recently have had some figures suffer deterioration. I hope these last.

Would definitely love a Manco figure as a revisit. With the original blondie selling well seems like easy money to do a kind of variant. They did a different suit Harry so wouldn't be too much of a surprise either.

His character from Rawhide would be a fun one to have. I caught a few episodes recently and it may not have been a great show, but it was his first role. And it would be kinda cool to have something from his wholesome, TV heartthrob years. 😄

Having been on the trail for a while, I remember this show and the characters too.

SS Blondie showed up yesterday. I think my biggest on nit on this is the way they sculpted the upper eye lids. It’s not a full Eastwood squint and not a regular open eyed sculpt either. Kind of a weird half squint. :lol He’s too tall also but everything else looks pretty good.

No poncho! What is this blasphemy!? :shakingfist:

Kidding of course lol nice shot.

Also, Sideshow shipped my Preacher already which was surprisingly fast. Normally, they tend to "process" for a couple days.

Out of all the Blondie figures I've seen posted, I find Sideshow's to be the best overall figure.

The SS clothing and proportions look better than any of the third party stuff. Sculpt is debatable I guess but the production of it looks cleaner. Something about the third party stuff just looks janky.

Best way to describe the figure for sure. Everything from the neck down is incredibly well done imo. The outfit and tailoring is top tier and fits perfect. Guns and accessories could be a little better but that's nitpicking. From the neck up though, it's frustrating, because this could have been a complete 10/10 knock out.

I've just stuck to tilting the head down on mine so the hat kind of hides the finer details.

Preacher arrived today. Amazing job by SS. Sculpt is much better than Blondie and the eyes are just perfect. Overall proportions are great. The only thing I really don’t like is that kerchief. He’s probably the best figure they’ve ever done. Only Skiff Guard Lando rivals him in my opinion.

Looking at them side by side it’s easy to see BLONDIE is about 3/16“ too tall in comparison and it’s all in the legs below the knees. I may do a little surgery on him to get rid of that leg stilt look he has.

They look exactly the same in height and proportions to me... :dunno
They’re very close. Like I said, about 3/16”, probably closer to 1/8” difference, so not much really. Blondie’s legs just look a bit too long because of it.

I think it has to do with how his boots are made but regardless I think if the shins were shortened he‘d look more proportional and less awkward.
