Damn, ok...
Not only is it my favorite western - I think it's the best western.

You figure out everything you need to know about William Munny when he visits Ned. That look that Sally Two Trees gives him. The way she looks at Ned like she knows he will never come back. Everyone else in that film had heard about Munny. She actually saw what he was in his younger days with Ned. Then you can't quite be sure which is the "mask" that William wears. The killer ( which is why the writer is dragged into the story) where you can't be totally sure it's all true. Or the failed pathetic pig farmer. Then when Munny hears about Ned being tortured and on display, the swigs from the bottle. You start to see the pig farmer mask slip off.

On this figure, IMHO, the head would work better if he was more gaunt. Also the clothes are too clean, too bright. And, while this might be impossible on a mass produced level, the "iconic" look to me is walking into that saloon from the rain. If they could manage a very wet, battered, beaten down, dirty, soggy look, that would feel more like what was on screen.

And, I know many in this hobby are not into Cut/Fold/Paste. But if this set included a Ned "death" headsculpt, plus that sign, then the packaging could be cut fold and pasted into that open coffin, like a little background dio, that would be interesting to have. Maybe slip the Ned headsculpt into the inset of the CFP. Just some thoughts.

I was never interested in forking out $250-$300 USD to own ANY of Clint's "cowboy" roles as a 1:6 piece, so I don't have the passion that so many of you do.

I don't think the sculpt is that bad - it CERTAINLY captures the character, but agree it's not quite up to the standards of the "Josey Wales" piece.

Plus that rifle barrel is never going to be in porn movies.

Genuinely sorry for those of you that are disappointed.

I still want that "Kelly" and "Philo" though - and I'LL be miffed/vexed . . . unhappy to the point of wringing my hands STRONGLY . . . if we don't get them!


PS: Watched "Play Misty for me" for the first time in years a couple of nights back - and quickly remembered WHY I'd not watched it as many times as other Eastwood movies - that psycho female lead is UNCOMFORTABLY convincing!

Look at that tiny barrel. Most iconic scene and he can't even hold it. This should have a regular sculpt without hat, but that likeness is back to square one after Josey and Preacher.

Barrel size seems fair though opening should be larger, hard to covey at this scale, and hand could convey a better grip, yet they seem going for a more multipurpose hand.

Yeah I think that's the biggest miss with this figure-- it doesn't capture that tired, old, beaten down look the character had throughout the film. The outfit is too new and well-tailored, the body is not lean enough, and the sculpt makes him look like some cartoon villain.

Absolutely! He looks way too healthy. It’s a bummer for sure, but on the bright side that Josey is a killer.

I'm going to echo the sentiments in this thread. Very disappointing. Especially considering how with the exception of Blondie they were on an upward trajectory. Sadly, I'm most likely going to purchase. These are the kind of figures I love.

I suppose at the end of the day like most things it is about the munny.

Yes, the figure gets better each time I take a gander. It is good that Sideshow have included all the hardware too. As collectors we seek perfection and there is no such thing, well with exception of my wife and daughters.

The number one moment of the film in true Clint Eastwood style. Over the years purely for my own entertainment I have used numerous film dialogue when and where appropriate well most of the time. In most cases my efforts have fallen on stony ground but not for me. Delivering this dialogue was certainly a moment and those present took notice although they had no idea from where it originated. I have entered so many s***holes where if you threw a bar of soap in it would be like a grenade going off.

Do you think the new Clint figure is worth the cost. My favorite is the Dirty Harry last scene figure.

I reckon it is where you sit on value and money or munny. The wide view probably not but few things are. 1.6 scale figures, custom builds cost crazy money, it is not just about what one can afford but where one draws the line. The best value figures I have seen is from LIM Toys Gunslinger Outlaws From The West, the fotthcoming Cowboy and much anticipated Dutch figures shall be confirmation. I take into account the additional costs of licence agreements, I imagine they are heavy.

Interesting. The W Richards 10 gauge has some stopping power, Skinny knew all about that for a few moments when he re decorated the back wall of the s***hole.

That's one of the most obvious problems with the sculpt. And the sculpt has a general caricaturish feel to me. And as iconic and amazing as this character and performance is Munny isn't as interesting looking as Josie, Blondie, or even Harry, so you really gotta give us a great likeness.

And really, I think these Eastwood figures are quite expensive so if there aren't any changes to this release it'll be a skipper for me.

Edit: I just saw that it's $290. This is a very spare figure for $290. I'd be more inclined if we got a second head sculpt. And personally I don't think SSC makes HT level figures but they sure do have that price range.
