Interesting. I've always been on the fence about their DC figures.

Are these the first DC figures SSC has distributed?

Only Supergirl and Wondy have been released although they have Batman and Superman up the pipe.

Their Harry Potter stuff is really interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing their pricepoint.

They have a banner for Spider-Man 3....I hope it looks better than what we saw before...

I was very hesitant about my first Tonner purchase and waited a long time on Supergirl, but HP stuff is decent (except the Quidditch ball set).

I doubt they'll carry anything but the licensed stuff, but it's certainly an appeal to a completely different market than they have been focused on previously.

And if dolls aren't your thing - no need to be a dek about it...

I don't understand the excessive love for the Tonner stuff. I just had a guest review last night of the Potter stuff, and even the reviewer was pointing out issues that seemed pretty big to me. In a market like statues or busts, the most critical factors are paint and sculpt. In a market like fashion 'dolls', it's largely hair and clothing. Collector's of high end stuff like Barbie and Madame Alexander give a pass to sculpt or articulation, because that's the style of the collectible - complaining that these don't look exactly like the character in terms of sculpt is sort of like complaining that a bust doesn't come with any accessories. But the Tonner stuff seems to fall short on the rooted hair and outfit, both of which really need to look fantastic in this market. And at 17", they aught to look down right exact. Still, they seem to sell, so they must be doing something right.

"Tonner" has become enough of a name to sell itself, much like "Barbie".

In any case, a big "meh" from me. If I wanted to buy things that were not 1:6 scale I have many other places to go first.
