I opened my venom lsb and happy to say no issues. Did someone really have issues withtheir venom lsb, or was that just part of the initial panic?

iirc, it was the exclusive nameplate that had the issue.

It seems it's a very limited occurrence, only in a very small number for certain pieces. Saying you're "out" when you don't have any occurrences yourself is kind of like saying that you'll never drive a car again because you know this one guy that one time got hit by a train.

Sorry, that did seem like a rant against Sideshow. However, I'm just pretty disappointed in the condition that my Power Loader arrived in because I wanted it to be a representation of the climactic scene from one of my all time favorite films. The Queen is so amazing and this newer companion piece has simply let me down. So while I don't have any flaking issues within my collection, I still feel something like this should not have left the factory or been shipped to a customer:

Your analogy is a bit off for me, since its more like comparing an unsafe poorly built automobile to the Volkswagen I chose to purchase and drive. I'm not going to pour my money into a product line which may or may not flake in a few months time with no possibility of replacement.

And while I agree these are limited item sporadic incidents, I also believe that only a very small portion of the collectors read these boards and report in. So lets say even 10% read and post here. That still leaves 90% who we hear nothing from. If there were two Power Loaders with the armature issue, it may be safe to say that we can multiply the number of actual incidents to twenty. I'm not going to take a chance at having the same issue with an exchange.

But I still love the Sideshow brand and product. I just want it to be the best it can be and hold up in my collection over time. :(

Fury, the arms not matching up are pretty glaring issues. I know you shouldn't have to do this on such an expensive piece, but have you thought about heating it up with a blowdryer and carefully moving it into its proper place?

I've got to admit, this has also slowed down my SS buying. Every time I walk past my IM lifesize bust, I can't help but check him out and make sure there are no forming paint cracks or flakes. The worst part about this kind of issue is that you can't always spot it right away. It could slowly happen to any of your pieces. Also, we've seen pics of it affecting a wide enough of a range of items that I'm worried about what it could possibly affect next.

The only flaking paint I've seen develop so far has been on the lettering in the logo of my Spidey 1:1 bust. I really hope it doesn't happen with anything else. Furthermore, it has me very worried about holding on to preorders for more expensive pieces, like the Aliens maquette.

I asked a question about the flaking issue a month ago on the ‘Ask Sideshow’ They just ignored.:dunno:huh

Okay, but after I posted my question there were 7 (SEVEN) "Your Questions Answered" Posted on their site.

Funny thing I have a foot long battery operated airplane which is 30 years old made in Japan.

All the electric parts still working, lights and all, just a little bit of rust in some corners and no paint flaking at all.

Some of the Sideshow crap is busted right off the box.WTH ?

That is funny. Apples and oranges. 30 years ago and today. China and Japan. A tin toy and a polystone statue. But where's the relevance? Particularly flaky is right.

Logic and reason has no place in this thread. It's best we let it alone and hope it dies.

I was the one who received the Darkness LSB with major paint flaking. Just received the replacement today and as you can see, it is perfect :D:banana I don't care about the Legend movie, but this piece is incredible. :google

Has anyone had any flaking problems with the Star Wars and LOTR lines?
