If anyone expects an answer, you gotta at least fake being nice....based on the tone in this thread, dont expect a response. At least, not on these forums.

This thread has turned into (literal) name calling.......

Uh, we did get a response from Sideshow in this thread.

Actually, the gold paint on that thing (as shown on the prototype) will be much harder to achieve than Sideshow's usual paint apps, which are themselves flaking lately. We have every reason to be concerned now.

Isn't that a completely different process though?

Despite the recent QC issues, all this 'Lord of Darkness' talk got me really wanting this piece again. (Maybe just so I could put a mini Santa hat on it?! Lol...) Seriously though, the price was right for me (brand new, $230--shipped) so I risked it. Just received #197/1000 of the regular (red) version LSB. AD off of ebay must have merely been a 3rd party broker in this case since the bust shipped directly from SS themselves (Ventura, CA). I can tell it must have been re-checked for QC too since the padded paper seemed loose and the tape a bit less sticky than usual.

Happy to report; Flawless Victory---NO FLAKING at all.

So I would say if you order directly from SS's remaining stock, it's probably a good bet that the one you get has been doubled-checked for the aforementioned problem. I'm no SS suck-up & have had my beefs with them from time to time, but they at least got this piece right & I'm very pleased. Can't wait to see reactions from my friends.

'Merry Christmas' to myself. :chew

Yeah well wait another month or so.

Well 2 of those 15 complaints were mine so it seems Sideshow has only had 13 others, I call b******t.

My question is ...if then why did the Darkness bust JUST ship with the SAME issue????

and WTF kind of lie is this.....????? :lol

:nono......:dunno

The proper way to address an issue with a Sideshow product is to go through their website response forms. The fact that Dusty takes the time to do the research and respond on this forum is one of the perks of being a member here - but why should anyone bother to respond on here at all if this is the kind of treatment they will get? :banghead

Yes, it's issue. Yes it's being dealt with. Learn some manners.

It's so true. I think its why we don't get SS VIP's like we used to around here. Makes me sad.

You know, I wish everyone would stop all the Sideshow bashing, Not cool.

If you have an issue with product, Sideshow will do their best to take care of you, They always do. I say again people please be respectful thank you.

As someone who's worked in customer service (in one form or another) for almost a decade, I can tell you that polite people get a better response from me than the the rude ones. If I got a damaged product that I shelled out hundreds or thousands of dollars for, I would be incredibly upset (and rightfully so), but taking out that frustration on customer service reps isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

I used to work at Target, and when they stuck me at the service desk (oh god, the service desk after Christmas... the horror) I dealt with people who'd gotten screwed with defective products on a regular basis. Since I was something resembling a manager, I had a TINY bit of leeway with regards to certain return/exchange/refund policies (believe me, it's just a tiny bit). You know who got the leeway right away every time? People who were polite to me. I was much less inclined to go out of my way for the people who yelled and got in my face and acted like I personally had caused their product to be defective.

A little kindness goes a long way. People who got defective products have every right to be upset, but venting at a peon isn't going to improve the situation.

I've always been amazed by people who are rude to those for whom responding in kind is not an option.

Would they be so obnoxious to someone who was free to knock their teeth out?
