That is good news (about more Indy stuff in dev). Must now have patience. Ugh...hate patience.

Obviously we all wish it was more popular abroad like it is around here.

That pretty much says it all. This line will go the way of LOTR.

Don't forget, I am NOT in any way associated with the production team :D I really have no idea, and there are a lot of factors that go into each license.

BUT, common sense says that if sales don't back it up, how can a fast-paced release schedule be justified? Slow and steady is where it's at! ... or else we get everyone canceling because too much is being released... it's such a tight rope!

And tell all your friends to buy in-stock Indy items! :whip

I think the biggest problem with ROTLA Indy is that he was announced too early. There was too much of a wait time between first announcement and actual delivery of product. That gave time for some people to lose interest, and also have the hype build to a great height for those who waited. The paint application and the ill proportioned, loose Pro body were two major disappointments for a figure that customers had waited for in development for such a long time.

Then Belloq was bundled with the Idol. It didn't make much sense because Belloq didn't have the safari clothing that people associate with him during the beginning sequence of the movie. Also, customers wanted to buy the Idol without having to buy a Belloq that many people perceived having a poor likeness and substandard tailoring for a premium price on a Pro body that already received a negative debut with Indy.

Then, not only was German Indy a really baffling choice, but for the pricepoint, he is quite a low value for what he comes with. I think Sideshow could have made more money pricing him a bit lower and offering a larger edition size. If they want to charge $90, give him the extra head without the hat to compliment the bazooka.

I DO know that there are definitely other Indy characters in the works (at least at the development stage right now) and we are NOT abandoning the license! :duff

What!?! The sky isn't falling? Who would have thunk that? :rotfl

Thanks for hopefully calming so folks Dusty. :duff

This argument is always interesting to me. Not just with Indy but in general and not with SSC even just a generality....its the collectible's version of the Chicken/Egg argument. Did the release of a particular character lead to low sales which in turn slowed a line or Did low sales lead to the release of a particular character in hopes to combat said low sales or did the release schedule lead to low sales which in turn compromises the choice in particular character.

A little off topic but interesting to me nonetheless. :D

Comic-Con Exclusives... MOST of what we've posted about them is the truth ;) :lol

The Priority Pre-Order and Attendee and Non-Attendee is DEFINITELY the truth :duff

As for the characters... I can say there are some VERY good guesses in this thread! (there are also some hilarious ones... keep 'em coming!)

And I think they are pretty rockin' this year. But as usual, some people will be ecstatic and some will be less-than-pleased - even with SEVEN there's no way to please everyone (that's why I resort to the drinking - :duff)

I can say that there are three that I am DEFINITELY getting... I will let you try to guess which three once they are announced ;) (hint... one is from a license that I never thought I'd buy from....)

Dusty can you at least confirm that SSC will be sticking to their original statement of no "big boxes" for SDCC Exclusive because they don't want people to carry them around?

Can you tell us that the assumption of two SW characters in that pic is correct? We won't tell anyone

Truth be told, I don't see where Marvel fits? Unless it's a medi or HT?

The Marvel one has me scratching my head too although we are discussing the just announced "Silly Thing" version of the HT Iron Man Mark 3 which is a collaboration with a local business in HK....many are speculating that its the SSC Marvel Exclusive that they are importing.

The Dead -- Mort!

You never have posted your own personal collection, have you Dusty? I wonder what your collection is?

That was my guess as well.

That Iron Man doesn't look all that spectacular to me. It looks just like the Mark II except a duller darker shade of gray.

I don't want to be a downer, but the sales haven't really proven Indy's popularity at a higher level... we experienced many cancellations from retail stores for the regular edition RotLA Indy (both 12-inch and PF), and they are both still available on our site and through all our retailers.

Dusty,

Thanks a ton for participating on the boards and discussing these things with fans. While Indy was never my #1 line (make mine Marvel!) I was excited about the RotLA Indy PF from the pics I saw at last years Comic-Con and was planning on picking him up once I saw 'in-hand' pics of him. Unfortunately, when I saw the horrid "chocolate milk" skin tone put on him that many people were unhappy with completely turned me away. That may have impacted sales quite a bit.

Can you confirm ONE thing for me? Is Sideshow still promising NO BIG BOXES on the exclusives at the con? Thanks again

Big boxes and Cons don't tend to go well together... that being said, IF they really wanted to do a PF as a Con exclusive, I'm not sure that would stop them... didn't we ship out the Luke PFs one year, rather than having Attendees pick them up in-hand?

(how was that for a tease? ;) :lol)

The license is not The Dead - I have ALL of The Dead.

Here are some photos - we have more stuff (Creature SSE PF, Mummy SSE PF, Ringwraith on Steed, Cap America PF, Dr. Doom PF, Boba Fett PF, Red Skull PF, Captain America weapon set, Fantastic 4 dio, etc.) but haven't taken pics of those yet... we just recently started setting things up.

Looks like TWO new items were added to the website. The one on the left looks like Susan Boyle, the one on the right might be Chewbacca????? :monkey3:monkey3:monkey3
