And yeah, the other is The Butcher...

But I'm thinking I might need the LOTR dio too - such a great moment in the film... and maybe the Luke/Han, although I tend to like the PF Star Wars stuff best.... But I always did love Luke in that Stormtrooper getup ... "aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper" .... oh, man, now you have me all confused :lol

I hope Luke is significantly shorter in his ST gear than Han is. :lecture

You think after the whole "Brant as Endor Rebel" fiasco, any Sideshow employee will want to be outed again? :lol

Are you trying to imply that I am a member of the walking dead??? and that half my face has been bitten off????

Why, sir, I am ... well, I don't know what I am anymore.... :sick

I think this is the coolest lineup of exclusives ever for Sideshow. If you disagree please post what was better.

I don't think so. Hasbro made that in tribute of a little girl that died. And all of the proceeds of that figure went to the Make-a-wish foundation. BIG difference there! I don't care if some silly guy is into grey right now.

You are arguing intent, I am arguing color choices. They could have done an R2 with the Make a Wish logo or done in blue with white accents which is Make a Wish's coloring but it was specifically requested in pink so they did it. This was specifically requested in Grey so they did it. Intent was completely different no one is arguing that, the design process was the same, someone wanted it and they did it.

R2-KT was the pink droid that was made for Katie (get it) in 2005. Hasbro made a figure of that droid in 2007. 2 years later. They didn't pick the color scheme. It was chosen way before they made the figure. So it isn't the same at all.

So Katie didn't request that her droid Hasbro or otherwise be pink? I seem to remember it was done originally (the home built Droid) because it was her favorite color......its funny how some people like grey too.

I thought it was kinda cool that they used a Sideshow employee for a nameless character's sculpt.

But they didn't request Hasbro to make a pink droid figure because they like pink. Thats what I'm getting from that silly guy. "Hey, I like grey. Make a grey iron man for me." They made the pink droid because that was the color the droid was made in. Had that droid been colored just like R2-D2 they still would have made it.

And even if you don't agree with me on the color choice, the intent is dramatically different. If this silly guy is dying of cancer and these Iron man figures are going to some foundation, that is one thing. But if HT is making them just for the heck of it, then it is definately the worst exclusive. Even behind CCC.

I didn't care that a Sideshow employee was used, I don't ever care if a SSC employee is used for a grunt in any license as long as the figure is good.

Exactly! If we put ourselves in their position, would we have just made a generic sculpt when we could have had a figure of ourselfs made? I would have done the same thing.

Like I said originally in my post previous I'm not arguing intent and never was. HT is making them for this store exclusively, they are not widespread sale. You cannot buy this figure at retail without going to the store...following me so far? So its not making it for the heck of it, they are making it for this store proper. What SSC is doing is bringing a number in for their customers so we don't have to pay $350 for a figure because we don't live in Hong Kong. More after they go through whatever they went through in terms of stock. Candy Cobra is made to have a variant. This Iron Man is an import of an exclusive.

If you don't like the KT Droid example here is another:

Silver Centurion Iron Man, never in the film, a paint app done for Target stores. While they didn't get to choose the color it isn't any less of an exclusive or any less of variant. SSC doesn't get to choose anything in this variant its a solid being done for its customers because availability will be low. They had complete control over Cobra Commander (which is growing on me, I know blasphemy but I probably still won't buy it), its not comparable.

If I worked at Sideshow and had any kind of pull you'd be seeing a figure of me in every line :lol

OK, I suppose you are right. It still is a dumb variant though. I mean if you are going to make a grey version, why not try to make it War Machine-like? It just seems poorly executed to me. But if that is just how that guy wanted it, then I guess that is how he wanted it.

I just don't understand why Marvel would approve a figure like that. I mean, they have to approve each figure right? Its one thing for Hasbro to make a scubadiving satalite blowtorch Iron man figure, but I would think they would hold a collectibles company to a higher standard.

CCC is at least based on another figure. Even if that figure is less than a year old. Plus it actually looks cool. Gunmetal Grey Iron Man is too much along the lines of a poorly constructed Mark II.

At least we can agree on that! :lol

I have no problems with generic characters like grunts or zombies being based on Sideshow employees. I've been saying for years it would make a great contest for us collectors! Make one of us into a military figure or a zombie! That would be awesome. GG did something like that right? Except it was just a one of a kind item instead of a actual production figure I think.

The new Dead shirt that is free this week may actually be a hint of this? The Collector? How cool would that be? What accessories would it come with? Sideshow Grails in 1:6 form? 1:6 Balrog statue, grey hulk, PZ, etc. :lol
