OK, I suppose you are right. It still is a dumb variant though. I mean if you are going to make a grey version, why not try to make it War Machine-like? It just seems poorly executed to me. But if that is just how that guy wanted it, then I guess that is how he wanted it.
Right. That is how he wanted it. I wish I had enough money and clout to call up and request a figure. War Machine like would be more than a repaint, it need tooling and if you look at the Phil Saunders War Machine concept from Iron Man 1 it'd look completely different.
I just don't understand why Marvel would approve a figure like that. I mean, they have to approve each figure right? Its one thing for Hasbro to make a scubadiving satalite blowtorch Iron man figure, but I would think they would hold a collectibles company to a higher standard.
That I can't argue with, I don't know why Marvel would approve it because it is a higher collectible but then again they approve bust and statue variants for things in similar pricepoints for stores and etailers. So go figure.
CCC is at least based on another figure. Even if that figure is less than a year old. Plus it actually looks cool. Gunmetal Grey Iron Man is too much along the lines of a poorly constructed Mark II.
Its actually a Mark 3. Ironically the paint apps and light weathering are the best done of the versions produced so far.
That is a little tough to shallow but its definitely something that I'm glad I can get locally and not have to hunt Asian sellers and a pricetag around $400 for....but then again I'm an Iron Man who would have done that.
The new Dead shirt that is free this week may actually be a hint of this? The Collector? How cool would that be? What accessories would it come with? Sideshow Grails in 1:6 form? 1:6 Balrog statue, grey hulk, PZ, etc.
I would have myself come with a mini PZ to hold and scaled Doom PF Exclusive, an original DEAD T-shirt and the biggest smile.
