The sleeves aren't of concern to me with the Hasbro robes, it's the too small hood of it, it was too small for the figure it came on, and it was designed ot be stitched to the top of his head.

The stitches come right out without any damage to the hood so no worries there. I don't think the hood is that small. In fact the SSC head is probably going to be a little smaller than the huge noggin the Hasbro one has so I think it should fit just fine.

So is there an official explanation for Sidious' voice fluctuating after he dispatched Mace? Was it an after-effect of the Force lightning? Or was he channelling dark-side energy? Or was it Sidious' true voice taking over from Palpatine's?

It was definitely said it was intentionally done as a post-duel transition effect, I believe it's a combination of true voice and damage from the lightining; don't forget, just before his "arrest" he uses the old voice when he says "I AM the Senate."

True that, but I found the effect to be somewhat muted; it sounded like a different voice, but in the end of ROTS and ROTJ, there was a malevolence to it that was very defining. I remember the first time I heard him say "I AM the Senate" in the trailer, I got every excited and my first thought was yay the Emperor voice is shining through I am very **** in ****yzing character traits I know.

Yeah thats true... I always figured since it was almost like a sacred Sith ceremony he was calling on the force to almost brand Anakin's soul as his when he pronounces a new name on him. So yeah, I think it was supposed to be "force-enhanced".

Don't know if this has been asked, I haven't read through the whole thread. Do you guys think that perhaps both figures will somehow be able to "holster" in their sleeves , like in the film? I'm guessing that it can be done.

Well, I'm sure you'll be able to tuck it between his sleeve and the arm of the base body.

I have this image of Palpatine getting ready every morning like Luca Bratzi. In his undershirt, he straps a holster to his bicep, and inserts two small lightsabers, then puts on the rest of his clothes, checks to make sure they're concealed, then goes off to work. Always wondered why he wore outfits with such big upper sleeves.

And on The Invisible Hand when he's convincing Anakin to kill Dooku. "Do it!" Dooku reacts to the voice like someone who knows he's a dead man.
