As if I weren't going ballistic over this set from low-res shot, the hi-res only sent me over the edge. The detail of texture on both faces is great, but man, the work on that Sidious sculpt, it's a photographic dream, I CANNOT wait to shoot that figure and work with it, it's just breathtaking, I'm going to have MANY great images of him roll out.

Both figures look great. From Oluf's fantastic sculpts to the great choices for materials on the costumes (the red one looks OUTStANDING), these look like great figures....

Now I'm crossing my fingers to the breaking point that they turn out as close to the protos here as possible...

I have a feeling the clothes will be good, especially since they seem to be getting them closer and closer in production on average these days.

I think paint will probably great on Sidious since they seem to excel at the stranger more extreme stuff. Not as confident about Palps... I hope he turns out really well but I think that could be his achilles heel.

No head swapping, I'm just going to swap outfits; I'll end up breaking down each's wardrobe for custom futzing anyway so I'll just swap the outfits around for a short while to do that and then futz them to my liking when I put them back on the correct figure. There will definitely be images with the red senatorial outfit to include:

Yep. I had mentioned this before but when it's all said and done I want to have four versions of Palpy/Sidi. Chancellor, deep fried Chancellor, ROTS Sidious and ROTJ Sidious.

Though I will not pose him with the Hasbro robes, I will slap them on out of curiosity. However I have feeling that, like other Hasbro clothes on Sideshow figs, the sleeves may come up a bit short on SS Palps' arms.

Dunno if this was mentioned, but why do they differentiate between the two lightsabers? One says "Arrest" and the other "Senate Duel" or something to that effect. I thought he only used the one saber? Did I miss him having two completely different saber hilts?

The sleeves aren't of concern to me with the Hasbro robes, it's the too small hood of it, it was too small for the figure it came on, and it was designed ot be stitched to the top of his head.
