Yep, me too. But I gotta decide which one I want to get MORE. The Hot Toys Sideshow exclusive "battle-damaged" Predator 2 with the severed arm, or the Palpatine 2-pack!? Your thoughts guys...what would you choose? I can only afford to get one of the two, not both. So, I'll have to cancel my pre-order on either the BD Predator 2, or the Palpatine/Darth Sidious 2-pack soon. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

If you ask this here, people will say get Palps/Sidious. If you ask this in the Aliens/Pred section, you're bound to get the opposite reaction.

I'd say, check the prices on ebay for older Preds and let's say SS Maul. See what has dropped significantly and let your future cost make your decision. Also, there's always SS Second Chance to count on.

Keep the Palpatine two-pack, but I'm biased-- SW first and I don't own any of the Predators (although they look kick ass). If Obi is any indication the calibre of SS releases in the SW 1/6 are can't miss. Keep the two-pack... That's my vote for what it's worth.

I think back to how we were all waiting for Jabba/throne, Bib and Boushh to show up. It's hard to believe it was a year ago.

And look what we're getting now, Old Ben, Palpatine and Sidious, with quite a nice sunrise off in the horizon, going to be a great 2008 I think, not that 2006 or 2007 were bad, but the ride just keeps getting better.

Yeah, those are the two big things on the horizon for me as well. I think the Palpatine two-pack is probably the more satisfying in the sense that you get two figures and they are very important ones for the SW universe, but I also have a feeling that they will be easier to get on the secondary market later on than the BD Predator. So I guess I would have to say, keep the predator and get the two-pack a bit later when you have the money, especially since you probably don't need to worry too much about missing the exclusive item.

Only 4 in the 1/6 line, 2 in the PF line (Biker Scout and Anakin), and just 1 in the dio line (Dooku vs. Yoda)... I smell another SW announcement in the near future.

Most of the people who say that equate success to the inclusion of Vader and Stormtroopers, however, I see it as a full line with a great selection and quality, which we're getting, and one day we'll have the missing pieces of Vader and the likes and it'll be an even better collection.

Tom, am I missing your swing pictures on these figures? Or as a mod did they ask you to give that up?

No, I haven't given up on them. But I am no longer a completist in the 1/6 line, so I just haven't received the last few figures. I am going to be happy with one version each of the characters in my collection with no room for duplicates, so I cancelled my ANH Leia and Bespin Luke figures. I did get Obi-Wan (following a frustrating wait after they started shipping, despite my early ordering on PPO day), but he was missing his base, so he has been on hold until I hear back from them on how exactly the replacement process will go.

I hope that weather permitting, I will be able to get a nice swingset shot when Palpatine arrives. I hope they go back to shipping first come/first served this time.

I don't think they intentionally departed their usually shipping tactics on Old Ben, everything just got so screwed up with his PPO and all and it carried into shipping. I wouldn't hold Ben as anything but an exception in ever way, from difficulty in PPO and Shipping to figure quality, he was in a league of his own in all those categories. Thankfully his quality was a positive on his own, and I hope that quality is shown in this 2-pack, I want it all good, but I REALLY need Sidious to come out great, he is THE figure of this pack for me. Where's CustomMikey, he's gotta be thrilled to get this news too.
