"Shoot them. Shoot them both." -Major Arnold Toht

So I did.

Here is my repaint of the Sideshow 1/6 Toht heads. Pretty fun to do.

You never the top of his head in this scene, but I thought it would look cool to see a bit of skull as the skin slid away.

*cough - cough* I am here!

Love the eyes! And the sunspots on his head. Excellent work on the separating skin at the top of the head. Overall -- BEST work you have ever done! :D

Well, OK, I'm partial, but you did make that OK sculpt look very much like Toht. I wish the sculpt sisn't make him look so serene.

Also, a few beads of sweat would add to his nastiness. Oh, and I'd love to see pics of the original sculpts to really admire what you've done.

Hot damn, Nathan! They're both incredible paint ups, but that melty face portrait is superb. You matched the effect from the film perfectly, imo :bow

I thought the Toht re-paint looked great. But then when I realized what the original production piece actually looked like, I was even more impressed.

Nathan! Amazing repaint of Toht... gotta say the sculpt never looked as good as you did.

Some advice though on your listing... you really need to re-order the pictures. The current order is one repaint (the melty head) followed by a lot of stock photos... you need all of the repaints first; when I looked at the page I was initially confused since I had to scroll down a level to see the rest of the repaint. Also; I'd lead with the non-melted head; it is so much more of an obvious improvement that you are more likely to catch buyers attention with it.

And finally put Silentsurfer in the title (and really an repaints you sell), a lot of people know who you are now and that will also garner more interest :duff Whenver I see figuremasterles, or Darkartist in a listing I always check it out :lecture

WOW. :thud:

Love how you've emphasized the skull peeking through. Especially the brow ridge!

The original, while nice-ish by Sideshow factory paint standards, is just white and red smears. But you've really captured the idea that there are multiple layers of flesh, muscle and bone! It feels so much more organic and less toy-like. Beautifully done, sir!

Well, "beautiful" may not quite be the word ... but you know what I mean! :clap

EDIT: Now ... if only your amazing paint could do something about those damnable glasses ...

Those glasses are pretty bad. Even the prototype glasses are much better.

I hate to hear about the split with SSC. I've never said a thing to you that I'm aware of, but I've silently admired your work for some time. I'll be watching for you to allow more freelance customs. In the future, I'll have an Arkham City Joker headsculpt that will need the magic touch! In fact, if it happens, you'd be painting my first custom sculpt ever. I don't mess around with imitation painter wannabes, but go right to the top!

Whoa, I just got caught up with your situation, SS. I'm really sorry to hear that! I'll repeat what everyone is saying in that Sideshow lost a real talent. I was completely blown over by the fantastic detail work you gave Boba, along with everything else you have shared with us. Definitely their loss and I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty of work to make up for it.

Hope I get it. I don't expect too many people to be looking for Toht right now though.

I'll be waiting up here for you.:wink1:

Why didn't they renew your contract again? Man, I'd kill to know.

There was never a contract. Each piece was its own deal. Sad to say it came down to a personality clash, of all things. There are one or two people that still consider me a friend over there though. One has certainly supported me since day one, and for that I will be forever grateful. He'd still be happy to work with me if it were solely up to him.

Thanks. I hope so. I've got a lot to carry me through the transitional phase at least.
