Both of those Jesses look excellent all built up, but that chem suit version is my favorite...congrats, Omar!

FAMCON!

I have been invited to have a booth and do a demo at Famcon at Frank N Son on May 25th. I thought it over, and it think I'm going to do it. I have no idea what I'll be painting at the show. It will be hard for me to concentrate properly on painting with all the meet and greet I hope to enjoy, but I'll work on something.

Now I would like to invite everybody and anybody I've done paint work for to bring their figures to my booth/table to display for all the fans that show up. Marf, Shortround, I'm looking at you... I will also be bringing some of my own pieces to show, including the production versions of stuff I've done for Sideshow in the past.

And since I have a small truck load of Trevor's Walters in my possession at the moment, I plan to do a step by step display of my paint process using each head as a paint step. It's a good chance for some aspiring artists to glean some paint tricks until I finally make a How To Video.

What do you guys think?

That is such awesome news for the FAMCON attendees! Unfortunately, I won't be one of them. :( My sister had to move her wedding up a week, and so my Saturday and Sunday are totally booked. I would happily truck every single piece you've ever painted for me there, otherwise. :gah:

Hey ALL,

Sorry I haven't spent any time being gracious about all the positive feedback you guys have given me lately, but know that I read it all and appreciate every word.

Thank you. I'm trying to stay busy for you.

:panic: :panic: :panic:

Whatever you want, whatever you say. :lol I just wanna learn how to paint already.

I might do that, or it may be up to attendees to do that for you. I don't want to give away too much.

I may also bring this if I get it done in time. I'm modding my 1/3 Sano Big Chap bust to feature an open mouth, like the NECA pose for reference, and the fully extended, open tongue. Step 1: recast the Sano tongue 3 times to be used for length and parts to make the open tongue feature.

A Spider-Man repair/mod for Oneye. He sent me this piece because one of the fingers had broken off. But by the time it got to me, all the fingers had broken off.

He didn't like the fingers anyway, so I offered to sculpt the hand into a fist.

Thanks.

Another repair I did today for my dad.

I actually had this thing repaired and painted when I noticed the repaired antler looked like it wasn't quite symmetrical. I couldn't accept that it wasn't perfect and rebroke it and did the putty and paint match all over again. Cause that's the kind of artist I am. The following pic is the even worse second break.

Nicely done on Spidey and the moose. I'm ashamed to admit, Nathan, I didn't know you sculpted, too. I'll have to keep that in mind for the future.

These pieces are great! The mods and repairs blend in seamlessly. Nice work!

Thanks. It's always a fun challenge to make something look like I never touched it, so to speak.

I don't actually do full sculpts. My ability thus far is limited to detail mods and blending. I don't know how to sculpt with anything but putty with a very limited working time. I'd sure love to learn how to use other materials like wax as well I know putty. I'd be friggin' unstoppable then.

That's some nice work man, really impressed how you can match another's sculpting style so seamlessly.

I really hope you do start working on your own full sculpts, I've got a feeling you really would be unstoppable at that point :lecture
