First, I have a really nice camera for still photos, so that helps a lot.
My setup is a neutral grey cardstock photo backdrop that comes in a large roll that I have propped up over a folding table. I pull the backdrop down as far as needed to curve and drape it over the table so there are not hard lines or shadows in the background. The neutral grey background causes the camera to pic up the color of the item being photographed, however the light sources can shift the color a bit, which I correct in Photoshop.
My light sources are general natural blue light (often called Daylight) bulbs. I have to set up on stands flanking me and facing the table with white plastic bags over them to diffuse the light a bit. My other lights are from a ceiling fan overhead and sometimes real daylight coming in through a window.
