Fantastic stuff there Wake. You gonna get a Danny Trejo head for the Tortoise? (spoiler)

Since we are sharing our Nathan paint ups! Just finished my BrBa diorama this weekend!

Fantastic paintups as always, and Wake's dios and photography are always so impressive. Now if you put a Danny Trejo head on that tortoise... :wave

To all concerned, I am receiving all your emails and PMs. Please don't feel offended that I am ignoring you all for a while. I seriously can't even open any messages because I am so inundated with work from you guys. I won't be able to keep everything straight if I process more stuff.

I'm digging my way out one (or one batch of) impressive paint job(s) at a time. I haven't stopped working, but I have had to stop communicating.

When I am ready I will go through all messages in the order received and see if you are still interested in having your requests done by me.

Thanks!

Hey Nathan I know your busy but any chance you could gimme some info on your lightbox setup. Such as bulbs and stuff. Any tips are appreciated. I always love the way yours come out. I tried to make my own setup. Here's how it turned out. You can pm me if you want. Thax

First, I have a really nice camera for still photos, so that helps a lot.

My setup is a neutral grey cardstock photo backdrop that comes in a large roll that I have propped up over a folding table. I pull the backdrop down as far as needed to curve and drape it over the table so there are not hard lines or shadows in the background. The neutral grey background causes the camera to pic up the color of the item being photographed, however the light sources can shift the color a bit, which I correct in Photoshop.

My light sources are general natural blue light (often called Daylight) bulbs. I have to set up on stands flanking me and facing the table with white plastic bags over them to diffuse the light a bit. My other lights are from a ceiling fan overhead and sometimes real daylight coming in through a window.

That's about it. Hope it helps.

Awesome Nathan, thank you. I am working on getting a SLR but in the mean time I adjusted my lights and put some bags over. Made a big difference already. Thanks for taking time out to share some tips!
