RoboCop: Just the bust by Fred Barton, that I know of.

Fred's got a 1/4 RoboCop and ED 209 in the works for 2012 (or later) release that I'm crazy excited about though.

His head is bigger than my fist, and he is cast in the German Trooper material. Looks amazing in person, I assure you.

I don't have a smart phone or personal computer connection at the booth, so I can't do any real-time updates, but when I looked over the podium product list for the show during setup today, I saw Hot Toys is showing a stronger presence this year than EVER, EVER before. Even Medi's got a couple little surprises. Hot Toys is going to drive people bats though.

Any 89 Batman stuff we should know about from HT??? See what you have done. Now your the SDCC tell all. :lol

I had the absolute pleasure and honor of painting this beautiful Legendary Scale Figure debut.

This is incredible, and brilliant work on the paint of course.

This actually pains me to see though! I can pass on the ones they've announced so far (Obi-Wan, Darth Maul and Wolverine) but what happens when they announce a character I can't resist...I don't have the space for 1:2 figures :gah: Perhaps I'll get out of PFs and use the space for however many of these it allows...

SilentSurfer, can you tell what scale the Obi-Wan LSF is? People are guessing 1:2 and 1:3 scales until we know otherwise. :panic:

Without being too specific (you're going to find out tonight anyway), to answer your questions: Yes and Yes.

Best dropped hints ever!!! :hi5:

Ah. I should learn to read before posting. :lol

Please exit the internets and leave your collection behind :lecture

I misspoke about Legendary=1/2. Officially, anything in a super big presentation size that isn't lifesize, including the Wolf Pred Maquette, is considered Legendary Scale. However, Darth Maul and Obi-Wan are definitely 1/2 scale.

I just wanted to repost this from the Boba Fett thread:

This figure is just straight badass! Sideshow knocked it out of the park and SilentSurfer destroyed the paint work... looks like Boba Fett just walked off the screen :rock

I knew SilentSurfer was talented but holy Motherfrogger!!! Had no idea.......I'd walk around with a flagpole all day if I had that kind of talent

Thats what should be the real SS exclusive version. Handpainted EXs - limited to 100 each...People would literrally kill to score one

i think we're gonna run into problems if everybody is hoping the figures are gonna be individually hand painted by SilentSurfer. there's no way they will look as good as that prototype. that said, it looks fantastic and i'm gonna get it. (then, maybe send it to SS to repaint it)

You guys are awesome! The Sideshow team, especially my friend Jared, really deserve so much of the credit for making this figure a reality. It takes a lot of chugging along from a long train of talented, determined people to achieve a figure this awesome. This figure was in the works before I came along. I'm just the shiny red caboose.

Just speaking the truth :duff

And I'm glad to hear you felt they did your weathering and paint work on the Boil and Waxer figure justice. Hoping they can get a close approximation of your work on Boba into our hot little hands.

Just out of curiosity; how much time would you figure it took to paint one Boba Fett helmet?

It took me about 5 hours per helmet to be that ____ about the detailing cause every scratch typically consists of three perceived layers of shipped paint. Trying to figure out the right shade of green was bad enough, but I practically had to go over every microsection of the helmets two or three times to achieve screen accurate weathering.

On top of that, I painted the revealed helmet three times for three protos, and then two of the other version the same way.

It was all a labor of love for the character, the project, Sideshow and my fellow Freaks. I'm just glad everybody seems to think it was worth it. Mission accomplished.

And, yes, I did also paint Grievous.

SilentSurfer -

the next time you're in the office, can you please tell everyone there at SSC (including yourself) thank you for the very exciting month of SDCC pre-orders, prototypes and announcements!

One of the best months I've ever seen as a collector, and I appreciate all of the hard work and dedication you and everyone there has in making our childhood memories a reality.

:clap
