Looking good! I bet its cool seeing your painted figs on your shelf Nathan. I never did pick up any of the figures i painted for Sideshow.

So what is your take on them Nathan? How do you feel they compair to your prototypes? I think they turned out quite well, but nothing compairs to hand painted items that took hours upon hours to paint of course. But certainly MILES better than Dusty :lol

It still makes me sad that extra Dusty head didn't make the cut :(

@ Josh: Yeah, it's pretty cool. I'm sure they would have turned out fine even without my paint job (Gree and Bly were painted before I joined up), but I do get off on knowing that the armor looks the way it does because I painted them that way, the scratches, the patterns, etc. What I'm really waiting to see on my shelf is Jason pt3 PF. The artist proofs look great so far, and he's due next week.

@ Brant: When I first saw these at SDCC, I was very impressed. All of my scratches are there, the color is right on, and the patterns are perfect. They even did the clean scratches through the dirty white areas. Bernardo's Numa and heads came out very well, too. The overall dirt and smokey effect on the armor isn't as dark as the protos, but it's there, and that's the easiest thing to enhance if I ever feel the need. The only thing that lacks a bit is the rust stains on the Phase 2 helmets. They came out looking like orange marching ants. Again, nothing a little yellow, rust and brown can't fix.

Of course, I'm biased, but I'm totally stoked with them.:clap

Glad to hear you are happy with them :clap

And I can't wait to see Jason either. I got him free after using Reward Points so that makes him even better :lol

And Bly and Gree were done BEFORE you joined? Wow! Its funny how long Sideshow is willing to sit on some finished pieces until they can find a spot to plug them into the line up. And its funny how they had them done before Boil and Waxer yet they went with B&W first as well. I wonder how long they had those Red Battle droids done if they had you do the Episode 1 versions and you didn't even know about the Episode 2 ones :google

So cool to finally have the part 3 Jason PF in my hands. Even though I painted the prototype, and I am very satisfied with the China paint apps, I still felt the need to kick it up a notch.

So here it is, the first of my customizations of the Exclusive version, this is the SilentSurfer Exclusive "Bloody Nightmare Jason"

And sorry, but I won't be duplicating this for private commissions. This one is for me only, but feel free to steal the idea.

I will also be converting the masked head into a fully realized part 4 version with ax cut, more weathered mask with scraped off triangle, re-drilled holes, corrected straps and snaps, browner skin, and longer fingernails. Stay tuned for that.:yess:

That looks great SS!!!

Shirt looks different from the production Jason, is that a prototype or artist proof that you customized into the nightmare Jason?

How does the shirt look different? If you mean the color, it may have just been the lighting I used that brought out the green, cause it doesn't look that green in person. I did notice your pics looked like the shirt was almost chocolate brown though.

wow Nathan your painting skills have made me drool so many times before - now looking at jason is just :horror Just incredible - i would love my spare head to look like this ;) I can Dream :monkey2

After getting my exclusive out the shirt also looked like a choclate brown, but when i took a photo with the flash it turned out dark green like yours,

The color yeah, but the cut looked different on the collar too.

Probably just my futzing. However, to be perfectly honest, yes, it is a artist proof which is why I haven't mentioned what number I got. It doesn't have one.

Glad to hear they are giving artists artist proofs again. I know I've heard from Josh and Andy B that they haven't always gotten a sample of their work from Sideshow. You guys sell the items just as much as everyone involved and totally deserve to have one in the end :rock
