Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

Wow. Wow. Wow.

One of the best season openers, if not THE best, I've seen from Smallville.

So many questions, so many "doors" are unlocking. This will be an epic season, and it's shaping up to be the best there has ever been.

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

At the end?....

Yes, it was. :D

DARKSEID IS COMING!

I knew that had to be Granny Goodness last season. I was wrong about the parademons attacking Ollie though.

We need a spoiler discussion thread.

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

I don't know what to put in spoiler quotes because I don't know where every stands so, I'll just put all of my thoughts in one until everyone else posts. (I'd rather not spoil the fun, and play it safe.)

1.) Lex. Lex. Lex. So many clones. I have a feeling that the clone Tess brought home will age into the Lex Luthor we know, paving the way for Rosenbaum's return. One of the "Lx' #'s" mentioned the issues with rapid aging, secondary to the cloning process, so I wouldn't be surprised if this surviving clone ages quickly.

I liked the idea of the aged Lex clone in this episode being the

2.) DARKSEID. What a way to end that episode. That was definitely him in all of his glory. I know the director/producer/someone mentioned in a recent interview that the "Big Bad" will reign down on Smallville in a form we're not expecting. I'm not sure we'll see the "classic" Darkseid as we know him in the comic books. I'm thinking they might take the Doomsday approach and give him a human form with a "dark" side. Just speculation, but I can't imagine the form of Darkseid as we know him getting a lot of screen time. So another form is needed.

3.) Where's GRANNY?!?!?! Tess walked out of the lab much too easily. There's something more to that situation than meets the eye. I'm well away of Granny and her dog, Mercy, so I'm wondering if the writers will incorporate that into her character something.

4.) I'm glad to see "Papa" Kent make a much awaited return. It was great seeing him back in the limelight again. I know it won't be for long, but I'm hoping he'll make a few more returns this season. I miss his character and influence on Clark.

5.) Who brought Clark back from the dead??? It definitely wasn't Jor-El.

6.) It looks like the Ollie has his work cut out for him and that's all I have to say about that. lol And Chloe.....putting on Fate's helmet? I know she paid some price for that stunt, just waiting to see how that pans out.

I know some of this was discussed at SDCC '10. I'm not into viewing spoilers like that, that far in advance. So I apologize if I'm asking questions or stating things that many of you already knew. I'm not big on reading spoilers. I like watching things reveal themselves on their own.

Agreed about the Spoiler thread. I'm not big on reading spoilers. I like watching things reveal themselves, as it happens. I don't mind speculation of course, but I don't actively seek out spoilers.

Anyways...

Back to spoiler quotes to comment yours

I agree about the parademons. I was thinking the same thing. I guess we're wrong. lol I think we'll find out soon enough though. Possibly another government agency, like Checkmate? I'm skeptical, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

Loved the Pa Kent scenes, but I would've liked to have seen a bit more emotion from Clark at seeing his dad alive again. That's my one big gripe with Welling, emotionally he can be a bit stiff.

I figured he was in more shock than anything. I give him the benefit of the doubt. lol Plus, with all of the prophecy talk being thrown around, there's no time for the Man of Steel to be emotional! (I do see you're point though.)

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

I love how every post of ours is just turning into a spoiler quote and nothing else. :lol

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

Loved the first episode.

That's about all I can say without posting everything in spoiler quotes. :lol

The episode was phenomenal, and like I was saying, it may be the best season premiere I've seen this from this show. Maybe it was all of the hype, but it definitely lived up to all of it.

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

I got to run out for a while, but I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the reactions pour in! :rock

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

RE: this season's Big Bad

I read an upcoming episode synopsis that mentions someone being possessed by the "dark force" mentioned in this week's premiere, so it looks like they're going to have Darkseid without a physical form, at least for the time being. Similar to how he possessed Turpin in final crisis, and how Orion told him "he is in you all."

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

Anyone notice that Justin Hartley isn't on the titles as a regular cast member? Thought that was a bit weird....I hate that the suit is the Superman suit from Singer's debacle. I would have rather seen something more cloth orientated especially since Ma Kent made it.

He's still in the opening credits.

As for the suit, it's definitely weird recognizing the suit from another movie, but its grown on me already.

Re: Smallville Season 10: The Final Season

I guess using the Returns suit saves them the cost of having one designed and made. I don't mind it, the darker colors fit with the Smallville style. It'll be surreal to finally see Welling in the suit. I hope it's for more than just a last shot fly by to end the series.

I'm the opposite. I'm hoping they do a "last shot fly by." I want to see him don the suit in the last episode and end the series with a glimpse of him taking flight. It'll leave more to the imagination IMO. Then, we can paint whatever picture we want of Welling, piecing it together with the rest of the Superman mythology.

Edit: And by glimpse, I mean the viewer is actually able to see Welling in the suit (without the aid of slowing down a DVR to make out the Red/Blue Blur.)

I want to see him fly and be in the suit so bad now i am wishing every episode until the end he is fly in the suit but i don't think that going to happen,I really don't want to wait until the very last episode to see him fly.

Me either. I don't mind that they're using the Superman Returns suit. Even though it's not my favorite Superman suit. The one Christopher Reeve wore is my favorite. I really hope to see him in the suit for MORE than a last episode quick "fly by" the screen.

I am hoping for Michael Rosenbaum to return for the series finale' episode as Lex Luthor, and Clark to be Superman in that final episode. No one knows now who Warner Bros. will cast in the Superman "reboot" movie. Yeah, I'm hoping for Tom Welling, but in the back of my mind I've got a feeling it won't happen. So this may be the ONLY chance we'll get to see him as Superman in the suit.

As far as the season premiere, it was GREAT! It was SO good to see John Schneider back as Johnathan Kent! I really enjoyed the talk he and Clark had. Lots of foreshadowing about Clark becoming the greatest superhero known to man. I liked seeing the Superman suit encased in ice at the Fortress Of Solitude at the end. Also another awesome performance by Erica Durance as Lois! She could read the ingredients off of a cereal box and impress me! :)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to BIG things this season. I wonder what will happen to little "Alexander Luthor"! We'll see. Yeah, that ghostly "Darkseid" was cool and creepy. I wonder what they'll do with that this season, and the Dr. Fate helmet. Lots of questions to be answered for me. I hope they are able to get to them by season's end!
