Such is the nature of television. Bosworth gets a portion of a two and a half hour film and Durance gets a portion of five seasons worth of television.

Actually I was referring more to how much drama her character has and how she's been able to change just in this season, rather than screen time.

I thought that you mean that Durance eats more "meat" then Bosworth and that Bosworth needs a sandwich lest she collapse into herself.

Still, that's roughly twice as much time as Bosworth. Lois went through a lot in Superman Returns and her character arc was very well handled by the actress. I haven't seen a great deal of change in Durance's Lois so far, although she's of course very entertaining and played very well.

She put on a few pounds after Superman Returns.

Ok, so who else had a nerdgasm at the final shot of next week's tease?

This show is so good right now it's ridiculous.

If they deliver on that tease...oh my! :D

Great episode. I like how they're teasing us with Doomsday. It should be epic once we finally see that transformation.

I never watch the teasers but this was by far the best episode in a LONG time.

Though any episode without Lois is a mistake :monkey5

Um MEE!! Finally Superman is less who he will become and more who he HAS become. Very Spiderman 1 esque with that last scene though (which isnt bad).

This season brings something FRESH to the table finally. And this episode was awesome! Him sitting next to the police scanner all night to make sure he does all he can. Very Kert Busiek's interpretation of Superman through the Samaritan in Astro City.

Also the above the city shots with clark zipping through saving everyone. That was GREAT! That was remeniceint of the FLash in Kingdom Come. I also love putting John Jonzz as the detective!!

Phil Morris has been great as Martian Manhunter. The more of him on the show, the better.

This season is really showing me just how much of a drag Lana and Lionel had become to the show. The absence of those two and all of their baggage is really allowing the other characters to shine.

Agreed! And not just them, but LEX too. Lex was always behind things and in things and the source of tension. With him gone things can work independently of the luthors and give rise to new villains like DOOMSDAY!.

I thought this was the weakest of the season so far, although I'm biased against any ep without Erica. But there were a lot of things I liked - the progression of Clark's "mission" and his obsession - Jonn calling him on it and realizing he has a problem. And I liked Phil Morris as Jonn a lot - although if he lost his powers, wouldn't he be in martian form? He's a great mentor character and I hope they use him a lot more.

Still not sure where they're going with Doomsday, but they've got me curious.

You have never said truer words

Sure I have. I said you were a flaming homosexual.

And Dave I'm really curious as well. I have a feeling he's going to end up killing Chloe. I think it's time a main character died and now that Lois is at the Planet with Clark, her time seems limited.

I wonder if we'll see some huge super battle to end the show and this will be where Clark finally realizes his destiny and becomes Supes? I know Welling has said for a long time that he didn't want to don the tights but I think it'd be a fitting end to the show.

I have the same feeling. The triangle between her, Jimmy and Davis feels like it's leading to Chloe's death. I could see it maybe happening at the wedding or just before it.

Perhaps I'm just looking for sci-fi cliches, but this episode made me think that we might see this scene later: Doomsday standing over a beaten Clark who is near death and Chloe arrives on the scene and because of her connection to Davis she's able to just barely stop the final killing blow. Of course she could die while doing that - which would make it more poignant (and a bit less cliche).

IN the first episode with Davis, he says something heartfelt to Chloe....and then follows it up with "And I will personally kick the butt of anyone that says thats cliche". I was waiting for Chloe to tell Clark and Clark call it cliche....never happend. Point being, did they just miss that or was that a subtle attempt to tell everyone the show is no longer cookie cutter predictable and/or cliche happy?

Oh, and am I the ONLY one that hopes before the show ends John Jonzz gets his powers back and reveals his true form??!!

I want the original JLA to appear at some point with original members + Green Arrow. We already have MMH, Aquaman, Flash, and Superman...now we need Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Batman (I'm sure liscensing will prevent the bat) but Green Arrow is an acceptable replacement!

I doubt we'll see WW or GL - but I'm really hoping that Bruce makes an appearance - he just about has to. The success of TDK and no new film on the horizon should allow them to do that.

Wow, that final "tease" of Clark...as...could it be...Superman?! I hope so! Finally after 7+ years of waiting to see him in "the suit" that Millar and Cough said he would never wear. Oh yeah! :D I'm excited about that. But wait...IF it actually DOES happen. Something makes me think with the recent unpredictability (in a good way) of this show, something will happen, and we won't see Clark as Superman for the first time. But, I hope to eat those words and see him in the familiar red and blue suit very soon!

Superman is my all-time favorite superhero, and I've enjoyed this great show since the first episode. I agree that Lana and Lionel Luthor really did drag the show down for a LONG time. Even Lex Luthor too, as much I really enjoyed Michael Rosenbaum's great performance.

It would be great to see Davis fully transform into Doomsday. Seeing him battle Clark onscreen would rock! :banana It'd remind me of the "Death Of Superman" comic.

Yeah, I'd enjoy seeing a full-on Martian Manhunter, and even Wonder Woman, and the first full JLA together.

I'd really love to see Christian Bale appear once as Batman, or at least one small cameo as Bruce Wayne meeting Clark for the first time. I know Bale is working on Terminator: Salvation now. So he may not be able to do that cameo.

I heard that this is the last season of Smallville. I hope it ends with a BANG, and not a weak whimper. It's been great this season up to now. :D

Batman is withheld more then any other DC character in many medias because of screwy licensing issues. I have DC Universe trading card sets that have the most obscure DC characters ever and NO Batman. I am sure agreements could be made with the right people to turn a profit though....here's to hoping!

Not to mention...if they DID bring in WW, GL, and Batman...it would make for a kick ass post Smallville JLA made for TV movie, lol.
