Yeah those chips do look nice, i thought bloody hell dorgs painting has hit uber luber top pro level for a sec lol.

Yeah that bike does look cool.

I havnee seen the Tron film yet, im not a huge fan of the 1st 1 tbh but the hot toys bike is friggin sweet nonetheless.

As for the rogue situ it might be a good idea to find out how many people want 1 first. The most expensive bits are getting grenades, boots, helmet, dagger, belt and a scope. If you buy a gun just for the scope plus the others bits its most probably £30+ just for them.

:clap Very cool Dorgs! Love the bike!

And I still have to see Tron - I will eventually, even if only to hear Daft Punk's new songs for the soundtrack!

And a pic/update every night, that's gonna be tough... you may have to be 'green' and start recycling after a while... :lol of course, some of us might get quite 'red' ... :monkey4  :cuss

:maul

...*Ahem!* Well anyway, can't wait to see what you do next.

Darn that Tantive V dio is so cool!!!!!

I really need to get back to SW although its been great playing with other dollies.... Speaking of which.......

todays pics and updates are for a project that Cbob and I have had in the pipe line since we first ever really chatted... Space Marines...

I am not roll playong fan but I love ad always have loved space marines ever since I was about 11 and my mate at school showed me a white dwarf.... it was like a top of the shelf magazine for the creative!!! I love it and drew so many pics.... and now.... we have it in 1/6th... so chuffin happy.......

Mark, this is truly a very cool custom!

I keep telling myself…must not stray from SW, must not stray from SW, must not stray from SW, must not stray from SW!!!!

But I am loving this one :)

I still have my first edition Warhammer 40,000 AD rulebook. Such great design work. Almost never played the game but the loved artwork!!!

Cheers guys but Cbob needs 99% of the crdit for this little puppy!!! I only cast stuff and made the basic armour!! Cbob made the shins and feet and backpack and loads of weps!!!!

Dark trooper ? Sounds nice.

Mark love the Marine but also love the earlier style helmet- a bit spy vs spy

Never the less , great work from you both ! I'm not a player of the game as such ( though I did play the idiots version "Space Crusade " ) , but I've always loved the design of the Marines . Don't suppose any casts are being made available ?
While I've got your attention Dorgs , I need a little bit of advice . I've started to plan my 1/6 BARC Speeder and need to learn the best way of fabricating the curved shapes of the main structures . I don't want to "carve " it from balsa or anything like that ( I want the build to be relatively quick ), so I was considering laminating sheets of my chosen material and smoothing it with filler . ( The way "proper modellers" make ship hulls ). My local hobby shop has started to stock foam core and was thinking about using that . Ever used it ? :dunno

Hell yeah the MK 6 with the pointed nose piece. The left shoulder has loads of studs on it so cool....

As for is the armour available well I guess so. We have made all the moulds. The moulds are not the best and the backpack will need a we bit of filling. The hands are so hard to cast up to... they are the ironman hands. I think I did about 6 pairs before I got a good set.

no idea on a cost for a set but I will do it as cheap as poss but I want Cbob to get a cut for every set.

As for a Darktooper could be so awesome!!

Thunder in my trousers!! A Barc speeder well we all talked about it and I am sure someone drew up plans I think. As for the curves chuffin nurse that would be a tough one. Foam board is great stuff for structures and stuff but I have no idea how it would work on the speeder. I would do the same as you and laminate it and sand the living hell out the sucker!!!
BARC_profile.jpg

I was saying the Chakaman last night how sometime I get anoyed at myself for starting massive projects like the Snow Speeders as they take ages and I get SOOOOOO easily distracted... Like now I wanna build a Barc speeder for my Neyo and do a Tantive V corridor!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Mmmm , how's this for an idea . IF I was able to fabricate the parts for the Speeder ( not impossible , just a little time consuming ) , would you be able to cast them up ? I have in front of me the Hasbro version and to me, the bike would break down into roughly a dozen bits . Of course , detailing , weapons , handlebars etc. would up the parts count, but these bits could be added in the traditional manner , styrene, rod etc . Maybe it could be possible for more than one person could have their own BARC Speeder ?

1. Dogmal, THAT IS AMAZING.
BUT
2. how tall is he? You say he's 1/6th scale... but that looks like the head from a TTA.. and if it is, he's not 1/6th. if he's a 12 inch figure, he's closer to 1/9th or 1/10th.

Space marines stand, on average between 7 and 10 feet tall. They are HUGE, genetically altered monsters.
Not wanting to knock your work, but I know how much of a nut for scale you are, so i figured i'd share. :D

i considered trying to make one once, but couldn't ever find a good body for 1/6th scale. I was, at one point leaning towards the Diamond select ultimate quarter scale, but I think they're too big.

Yeah Cbob and I gased about the whole scale thing... We started making the armour ages ago when I was reading one on the books and once we had done some bits I realised the size issue :( I was gutted but Cbob as always made me see the positive side of it and we said ahh what the heck. Cbob made the feet like big ol seventies glam platforms so he his taller than most 1/6th I worked it out the he scaled up to about 6' 6" which is no where tall enough really.

meh, as long as you guys know, and don't care it's all golden.

You know, if you do as GREAT a job as you usually do, since you guys are in the UK, you could probably take him to a golden demon tournament at gamesday, and enter him in the "open" category.
